Read somewhere recently that the idea was that Chelsea sign Nathan (brazilian names really have gone to **** in recent years) and loan him to Benfica for a couple of seasons and sign Gaitan instead. Is Gaitan really any better than Oscar/Willian/Cuadrado though?

significantly better? I really doubt it, but he's been amazing in Portugal for years and not terribly expensive, so I guess it makes sense for a club like Chelsea to give him a shot. Worst case scenario they spend a little money to add some depth.

Atletico in for Dybala according to Di Marzio. That's confirmation enough for me, they really know their strikers. We should buy him before he turns into a 60m beast there.

CHELSEA 'BID FOR DYBALA'

Chelsea have bid for Palermo's Paulo Dybala but Juventus are leading the race to sign the forward, according to one of his intermediaries.

A host of top European sides are in pursuit of the 21-year-old, who has exploded on to the scene in Serie A this season.

"Now I am in Madrid. On Wednesday I was in Paris. During these days I am undertaking many interviews for Dybala," Gustavo Mascardi, one of the player’s two main intermediaries, told Tuttosport.

"(Palermo president Maurizio) Zamparini is asking for €40m and it seems to me like a fair price. Chelsea presented an offer a while ago, but it was very low. Juve are in pole position because the boy considers Juve as a good destination."
From Sky transfer centre. Juve need to replace Tevez but they haven't really been throwing that kind of money around, so seems unlikely he ends up there.

Unless they sell Pogba for double that amount.

Player deals never happen but Hernandez would probably be an interesting toss in for us as well I'd think (in theory).

They want 40m for him apparently.

Yeah I said a while ago Hernandez would suit Dortmund's style of play. If Hummels move is genuine Dortmund should try and negotiate for him. I assume he'd much rather play for you than a mid table PL side or bench at United/Madrid.

Mark Ogden (who is generally clued in on United) has said we're seriously interested in signing Ings. Not sure United would be the best move for him apart from the ££.

Why is a mid table Bundesliga side better than a mid table EPL side?

40m euros = ~29m pounds

Ogden hasn't really been clued in since Moyes left from what I can gather. Would be a weird transfer for both parties I think anyway, don't think he's not good enough to be our primary backup striker and we aren't really hurting for homegrown players. If he's willing to come play 3rd fiddle I wouldn't mind it though, wouldn't cost much and we'd probably be able to recoup the money or even profit in a couple of years.

I wonder how Reus is going to feel if Klopp, Hummels and Gundogan all leave in the summer. He must be regretting signing a new contract, he could have had his pick of clubs with that release clause.

I'm reading a rumour (granted, the source seems to be the Sun) that Cech will go to Liverpool on a loan deal for a fee of €10M.

If anybody pays €10M LOAN FEE for an aging goalkeeper, then today's market has gone officially insane. At least in England it has.

Holy waste of financial edge, Batman!

You must be a true believer in the sirgaribaldi theorem to think that rumour is worth posting.

Reus still has his pick of clubs. Players that good can chose where they go a simple get the word out via an agent and the doors open.

Lol ok.

Firstly, it's the sun and therefore not worth reposting.
Secondly, if you bothered to do any research:

Quote:
The 32-year-old could be heading to Anfield in a £7.5million loan deal that sees the Reds hand over a £1m fee and pay Cech's £125,000-a-week wages.
But congratulations for continuing your impressive posting streak.

This is starting to look somewhat likely to happen.

Hoping we play hard to get where VvD is concerned, definitely don't want to see him go to a PL club only to see his value double after the PL hypes him up after 5 minutes, ala Forster/Wanyama.

Starting point should be £15m+.

With the competition being United, PSG and plop you'd probably be wasting your time anyway.

Last time a player chose plop over Spurs was Joe Cole....lol.

How many have there been since where both teams made concrete bids? I guess London is a nice draw but plop probably pay better wages and are likelier to be playing CL football and to have the occasional title bid in the near future than Spurs are.

Liverpool have at least made 2 or 3 title bids in the last decade, Spurs have not. Liverpool are still seen as a big club across the world, Spurs not so much.

Spurs and Liverpool were both in for Suarez at the time but Spurs pulled out because "we thought he was to fackin' similar to fackin' Van Der Vaart and we needed a fackin' striker that could play up top on his own"
