There's been minor noise about Shaqiri and Liverpool.

I'd be shocked if Bayern would sell him. Loan makes perfect sense and Gladbach have to be the frontrunners. Not sure where I read it but they want him to play and they want a good coach (on record sayin Favre qualifies)

Doubt Liverpool would want him on loan either way.

clowntable, who do you think is the best CB in the world, besides the two chosen by FIFA, Ramos and T. Silva?

don't blame it on me fifa didn't pick anyone from arsenal for their starting eleven since idk .. thierry henry. and most likely ozil won't be chosen this year either. or koscielny. or wenger.

sorry for the offtopic mods

Its very obvious that Thiago Silva is the best tho, not Ramos.

I'm not that sure T. Silva is the best, even though he is a beast. For the moment, Pique/Ramos are two times european champions and WC champions, playing for better teams in a way tougher league.

T silva then kompany imo. the level of CB required for your team is dependent on the system your team plays however. I would like to say Pique is one of the best but i am just not convinced he is that much better than players like Dante, koscielny, hummels in terms of being an out and out defender. Never really seen Pique boss a world Class striker the way other defenders do.

T Silva might be solid defensively (although doubts remain until we've seen him against the likes of Zorres) but is he BALL PLAYING?

Ramos is awesome despite his legendary number of sending offs for thuggish behaviour

not the best duo, but both are playing in better teams in a tougher league with more pressure and responsability than t. silva. and still the best NT.

w/e everyone has their opionion

doubt anyone of you guys have seen even close to enough of those players to judge properly

all i know is that koscielny is an elite CB with outstanding athleticism and anticipation and most certainly among the best in the world in his position

T.Silva #1. Then it depends on what you want. I'd put guys like Kompany, Chiellini, Luiz or even Barzagli up there.

Edit: Hummels seems overrated ITT
Edit2: If age matter dunno, probably some 20ish year olds (Marquinhos, Nastasic, Mangala, Varane)

barzagli as good as he has become should never be in a #1 CB discussion

You seem to base a lot of your opinions based on what they've achieved with their teams, rather than their individual ability which is what is being discussed.

Just a better than Ramos discussion...which opens up the field quite a bit :P

for the record, I think too that Koscielny is a great CB, I would have included him in my first list but he has less fouls than Pepe.

I get it clowntable, anyone who is not playing for Real Madrid. Pepe is a donk and I see how you dodged Varane from your 20ish year olds list. It's not even worth talking about FIFA's best CB in the world for 4 times in the last 6 years, Ramos. LOL

And again, T. Silva is great but it's one thing to be good at PSG and other thing to be good at Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern and a few others. Nobody doubts he is a beast, but he's playing with the best team ainec in a very weak league, not exactly the pressure or the hard work other CBs have to endure.

But hey, whatever, everyone has their opinion.

Last rumours I've heard, Suarez @ Real Madrid for 85 mil and Isco + Coentrao offered being made.

And I don't remember making a difference for Arsenal either this season, I remember him sucking when it matter the most in the EPL and UCL. I remember seeing him in Jones' pocket

man.

Ozil is one of the best players in the world. If you are a Real Madrid fan I don't understand how you can be saying ozil is useless. Just because a player has left our club does not decrease his ability as a player. Didn't he get the most assists in Europe over a pretty large amount of time before he left? So be able to say that in an era of Iniesta arguably one of the greatest mid-field players of all time supply Messi, arguably the greatest of all time is saying something.

I understand Ozil is not doing great at Arsenal, but he is still, total total class.

Fifa chose Qatar as the best host for the 2022 worls cup and Ramos as a good CB

Think about it
