Do a poll on your club's forum then. I would say in England definetly the majority is club before country, however we've done this a couple of times on one of the Aberdeen forums, and Scotland usually just sneaks it.

It's definetly edging more and more towards club though. When i was young virtually everyone I grew up with put country first, whatever team they supported. I think part of that was just about the only televised games apart from cup finals and european nights then were internationals, so they felt more special, but over exposure to football in general, and way too many meaningless fixtures against 'non-league' countries and friendlies with multi-sub rotation have dented the aura of international football.

Re: Random soccer/football discussion thread

Im nt from argentina but: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8FGs...eature=related

staing phrase is something like: ma and pa gave me life, the girls gave me love soccer gave me courage and the national team my heart

It isnt as meaningful in english as in spanish

Im from Honduras

I LOVE soccer but I love playing it 100000x than watching the 2 best guys playing it, thats why I put country over club, because i feel identified as country, not as club, i feel when one of my guys fight the ball as its the last one as if he is giving all of himself for US to win

If we have a poll on some Ajax forum I know the outcome, but I guess we can post a poll on the football part of the dutch pokernews forums to see how Dutch football fans in general feel. The forum software sucks though - has anyone got a site for a good poll? One that won't take people away from the forums just by voting - and possibly 1 I can embed? Thanks

Wow just saw the sickest dribble in the Beitar Jerusalem game ... (Israeli league) ...

It was the one where you kick the ball past the defender and then run around them at full speed ... don't see those often ...

Re: Random soccer/football discussion thread

A lot of crazy things going on with some of the US soccer leagues. There is some labor union stuff going on with MLS, which I am not real familiar with.

In USL news, it looks like the league has split up, and now there is the USL and the NASL. Both leagues have a tentative agreement to play this season together, but in different "conferences". The structure of which is fairly ridiculous. For example, Portland is in the USL, while Vancouver BC is in the NASL. Looks like there are a few expansion teams coming in, plus Crystal Palace's USL2 side is moving "up" to this NASL conference. Very weird, but ultimately I hope it gets sorted out. This type of fragmentation isn't good for the leagues.

Also, it appears Portland is very close to remodeling their stadium to get it ready for the 2011 MLS stadium.

Totally depends on you sir. Any of the top of the line boots from nike or adidas are good, but one will just feel better than the others. Get that one.

Personally, I like the copas as a GK because they are very comfortable. I wore a ton of nikes in college that were good as well. I didn't like the mercurials though.

It's been awhile since I've gone shoe shopping. I'm still working through the free ones I got in college. Need to buy new gloves though

Need a team in chicago to play this spring/summer if anyone knows a team that could use a good gk btw.
