Fenerbache tied it with a sick strike and these guys went bezerk. They were chanting something like "Loi Loi Loi Loi Loi" it was awesome. Then Fenerbache scored another and i thought this little quiet italian restaurant was going to fall over from these huge Turkish guys celebrating. They won and it was really cool.

Awesome. Galatasaray fans hate Fener just as much, if not more, than they love their own team. It's always funny to watch an Istanbul derby with fans from the third team that isn't playing as they basically support whichever team they hate less.

Re: Random soccer/football discussion thread
I'm VERY interested in what goes around in training sessions, match preparation etc.. I would do anything to be able to hear what Arsene Wenger says to players, the strategy they come up with against teams etc..
One thing i wondered about recently is that how much do ex-players divulge to their new clubs. For example, does Hughes have a sit down with Toure (Who played for AW a LONG time), and asks him the players weaknesses, what approach does he think AW will have, what they used to do in training.. etc.. info like that.

Toure: They are all nice guys, no weaknesses come to mind. It was a pleasure playing with them. Kolo is too nice.

Why do people support Colleges? I mean ones they didn't even go to etc? It is strange to me.
|
I grew up supporting Michigan and still do although I go to a different school. Tons of family members went there. I grew up going to football, basketball, hockey, soccer games etc at Michigan so I continue to support them.

Re: Random soccer/football discussion thread
Adebayor was probably too lazy and self indulgent to want to listen to anything meaningful AW had to say .
Adebayor's input would probably look something like this:
-Song still has some dance moves i didn't have time to teach him
-Bendtner is weak against headbutts we should look to do that more often to him
-Their wage structure sucks
Seriously though, i just find what goes on in manager/player interactions very interesting and would like to read "insider" stuff if/when available.

Re: Random soccer/football discussion thread
Do teams do open training sessions often? They get a lot of TV attention when they do that, so i just assumed that they do it once or twice per year (preseason mostly), but will probably try to include that in any trip i decide to make to England/Europe in the future.
Local or teams close by (Middle East region) are awful, and i wouldn't even want to go see a game or watch a training session even if i was paid to do it.

This definitely does happen, how much value the new manager places on the info from the player would vary a lot though I guess.
Another forum I frequent usually has daily reports from City training as there are a small number of posters who watch the sessions over the fence at the edge of Carrington. You can pick up quite a lot of info as to what specific things they are working on etc. and sometimes the assistant manager will go over and chat to the fans about the day's session, who's injured etc.
I've also seen pictures of tactics boards which are left in the dressing room at COMS and then seen by people going on the stadium tour although it's usually basic stuff like who marks who at corners/free kicks. Still very interesting to me though.

Depends on the club really. It seems like there are less open trainings every year if I look at Ajax I'm guessing Arsenal have even less open trainings.
Smaller clubs usually have close to 100% open trainings.
