Re: Random soccer/football discussion thread

Ocho cinco is awesome. He says he played a lot of soccer prior to high school but quit to play football.

He kicked for the Bengals the other day

Ocho Cinco is a moron, but I love him none the less. Him changing his name so he could get his nickname on his jersey is probably one of my favorite moments from the NFL the past 10 years. No Fun League? Not according to Ocho Cinco.

Im debating the WC. Might leave the WSOP for like ten days and go but still havent decided.

Shane O' mac is hilarious btw.

Hard Knocks on HBO this year has became one of my favorite shows. Esteban is so awesome.

lol if this wasnt a joke (which i hope it was) i think you may have been thinking of the XFL, in which case you can thank Shane O' Macs father for.

It was a half joke. Obviously anything you want is unreasonable but in soccer you can have a nickname on the back if you want.

Well there is no obligation to have ANY names on the back. Why wouldn't they be able to have a nickname?

Re: Random soccer/football discussion thread

Technically "Kaka," and a bunch of the Brazilians' names are nicknames, but i know what you mean.

I dont mind it if its a name that's become the players 'de facto' name.

Re: Random soccer/football discussion thread

Brazilians love nicknames. Pele is a totally made up thing, his real name is Edson.

Re: Random soccer/football discussion thread

The problem is, in the NFL you'd have "He Hate Me," while in soccer you have "Gio." The nfl doesnt want to go anywhere near that.
