In his presser he said the move is very close and I guess the media ran with it a bit fast. People have been saying its pretty much done all week.

calling a transfer where you play slightly above market value "sick value" is just wrong
Fair enough, just semantics them. "On a footballing level utd got a fantastic deal" is what Raz was trying to say I'm pretty sure. Who cares about any other level? Maybe Real Madrid could have got him for 14 million or something but who gives a damn. Utd got a great player for a great price. Sick value.

there always seems to be someone like that. I do wonder with the teams involved this year though if there will be someone that "comes out of nowhere" like arshavin did. Obviously it's hard to predict, but it seems that a lot of the young talent is more of a known quantity right now

Kind of surprised Danny Guthrie's available on a free. I might be wrong but I felt like he contributed a decent amount to the Newcastle squad, guess it signals the progress Newcastle have made as a club.

Danny Murphy will do a good job for someone as well.

They can subsidise that and send him on loan.

Re: Soccer - 2012 Summer Transfer Window

We extended Santana untill 2014...very good news
3 solid CBs locked up for next season, after that Subotic is likely gone and my guess is Santana takes over. Just get one more CB this or next season and we're set.

Re: Soccer - 2012 Summer Transfer Window

Mancini on RvP:

The Italian also made clear that Van Persie remains a summer transfer target when he was asked who he preferred out of the Arsenal captain and Napoli’s Edinson Cavani.

“Van Persie is world class,” said Mancini. “Cavani has *everything. When he was playing for Palermo, I wanted to take him to Inter.

“To sign Cavani at his present valuation is impossible. For Van Persie, it is a bit different.

“Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri were a year before the end of their contracts and for Arsene Wenger it was difficult to keep them.”
