Re: Soccer - 2012 Summer Transfer Window

How is Vertonghen? Reading more on him being Barca's backup if Thiago Silva and Javi Martinez don't happen. Looks like he has a lot of goals scored for a CB, how did most of those happen?

He's linked with Schalke and Dortmund. I really don't want him, I can't imagine that he would quietly accept a backup role.

Re: Soccer - 2012 Summer Transfer Window

Anyone with Seria A insight care to explain why Montolivo (free agent) isn't getting more attention? He was pretty sick 2 years ago, would love to see him in the Bayern squad in that form.

.
Utterly ridiculous.

I don't think so. Care to explain why?

Not trolling, it just seemed to be a pretty well reasoned point

If you think the reason why Chelsea had a poor season is because of Sturridge I have no idea what to say to you as logic will obviously fail.

Same for if you think the change in cup form (league has been just as bad) is because we have dropped him.

I have seen lots of dumb **** on teh interwebs, but this has to take the biscuit.

We had a **** season for several complex reasons, cliffs on one of the main reasons is primarily AVB treating the players like pawns on a chess board and losing the dressing room as a result. RDM comes in and treats the players in the manner to which they have become accustomed and things turn around shock horror. But no, it all can be explained by the starting and then the non starting of Sturridge.

like kevin noted, langer's post completely ignores the principal reason why chelsea weren't good when sturridge was playing very well: Villas-Boas. Sturridge wasn't the reason for the defensive lapses or the issues in midfield that led to wide open games. Sturridge wasn't at fault for playing a very high line and pressing game that opened up chelsea as well

Too bad, still pretty weird that he wasn't even an item. Thought him being available would trigger more interest.

iirc, you can only sign a pre-contract in january with a club that isn't in your domestic league
