I'd take Chamakh at Liverpool.

I think Dempsey, Giroud and a host of other players are on our radar filed under the "Van Persie doesn't re-sign" file.

Re: Soccer - 2012 Summer Transfer Window

Arsenal, Chelsea and City were all briefly linked with Wayne Hennessey before he got injured. He's supposed to be fit before the new season starts...that might have killed any transfer dealings.

The three names that have been thrown around the most are Yann M'Vila, Junior Hoilett and Oliver Giroud. Three weeks ago, people were talking about Vertonghen as an Arsenal player, but now it seems its only a matter of time before he signs with Spurs. Would love to see M'Vila at the club, even though we already have a lot of depth in midfield and it's unclear how he would fit in.

Lansbury back from West Ham too, right? I haven't seen nearly enough of him to form any sort of opinion, but the consensus seems to be that he'll make a decent PL player, but isn't quite up to Arsenal standards.

Re: Soccer - 2012 Summer Transfer Window

Assessment on Lansbury is the prevailing opinion.

I've seen a lot of M'Vila. He'd be our best MF instantly unless Wilshere took another huge step up after a year out from injury. Would be interesting if we more built the midfield around M'Vila or Wilshere if they were both in our squad at the start of next season.

Think Hoilett will go to Spurs as well. Giroud is mostly linked with Bayern currently.

Isn't he good enough to go to a team where he would be first choice?

Easily. But Montpellier isn't made of money, they were nearly relegated last year. I think most of the team will stick around due to the CL, but there are players on that team that could see offers that would triple-quadruple their salary.

Would it be a stretch to think Yossi would want to stay at arsenal should chelsea not make CL next year?

He can't get into the West Ham side so he would be of more use as a sub keeper than anything else at Arsenal. There is talent there but he drifts out of games far too easily and needs to decide whether he wants to make the most of his talents or thinking that playing for Arsenal's stiffs makes him ace and being the next David Bentley. He has essentially accomplished nothing this season, bar a couple of decent performances for the under 21's. He can't afford another one of treading water. I can see him ending up with us again if we lose to Blackpool.

Yeah sure but Arsenal or Spurs could also offer him a lot more money than Montpellier with a way better chance to be a starter there (depending on RVP/Adebayor). At Bayern he would be pretty much a lock to be a backup for Gomez.

Re: Soccer - 2012 Summer Transfer Window

I think Hazard is being extremely disrespectful to Lille, he should just STFU at this point. We haven't a hope of signing Hazard if City want him, we just can't compete at that level.
