I think it's part trolling, part stubbornness/idiocy, though over the last year or so it's become more trolling as he and ESPN have realized how well it works. The things that annoy me the most about his arguments are:

1) He'll often use one argument to prop someone up and then use the same argument to criticize someone.

2) He will argue something that isn't even the topic of debate, even after being called out on it repeatedly. Recent example was the many discussions they'd have about which QB out of Brees, Brady, and Rodgers is the best RIGHT NOW. He would constantly argue for Brady, citing his track record, when the question was not who has had a more successful career.

3) "Clutch gene."

At least he isn't kordell Stewart. He was on numbers never lie today and was just such a ******ed about everything. The football outsiders guy would just refute everything he said with facts lol

I think you guys are really underestimating Colin Cowherd. To me, he has surpassed Skip as the biggest troll on ESPN. I remember him saying that Hank gets angry at Jeter a lot because Jeter has a bigger house than him lol

no way man...colin doesn't take himself seriously as a troll like when he has a soccer clip and has to always say "obviously the best athletes in the world right here"..skip never gives an inch

and he laughs way more when he says stuff....skip serious as a heart attack

Skip and Stephen A. got into it over Tebow pretty good today. I lol'ed.

as ******ed as these guys can be sometimes, i really do enjoy the show almost every morning.

These guys debate for like 2 hours every weekday. What could they possibly have left to debate about Tebow?

John Fox wants 2 new qb's to compete with Tebow for the starting job. Skip of course couldn't believe it. SAS laughed at Skip. Then Skip said something about "What if the same thing happened in Carolina with Cam Newton?" SAS said Cam's obviously better than Tebow. Then Skip said, "Who had the better record?" That was where I lost it.

You guys realize that Skip is pretty untalented and uninteresting but figured out a way to make quite a bit of money talking about sports, right? I'd call him shameless, not ******ed.

skip & smith are 100% correct about bron.... the ringless king shouldnt be mvp cause his team dont need him to win nor do they need wade, their team is stacked enough to win with one of them missing.... the n.b.a mvp for the season never is just about who has the best stats but yet whos impact is more detrimental to their team having gr8 success through the season which is why u can have gr8 stats but be on a losing team but cant ever win m.v.p

Funny, I haven't watched it in over two years, and I must say, that I feel a lot better about it, after reading this thread.

I agree with 75 percent of what Skip says he actually thinks outside the box wish their were more analysts like him

If that's how the MVP is supposed to be decided and voted upon, I'd recommend you send that description to the actual voters. Seems like not all of them understand that.

There's other interpretations like, MVP to the league, MVP to his team, MVP to his team/league combined, etc.

Every so often Skip and SaS just get really emotional and yell at each other - the show becomes unwatchable then. But you keep watching cuz you wait for the 3rd guy to break them up, which can be funny.
