I still like PTI for the most part. It's better than anything else on TV, and while that's not saying much, I watch it faithfully.

+1. The only thing I still watch is PTI.

I even stopped watching NFL Gameday Final and just watch the highlights on the net (NFL.com) so that I don't have to bother fast forwarding through the debate afterwards.

They pay him to be an idiot and stir the pot and he plays the part well.

I can't believe the stuff sucks so bad despite being staged and scripted. I know it's impossible to expect intelligent sports commentary from a lot of these hacks but it doesn't mean they can't be entertaining. Actually Skip Bayless is almost there. If they had better people to play the "reasonable" to his "dumbass" side I think he might be worth watching.

I will even watch wrestling once every couple months or so, so it's not like I won't watch ******ed stuff, but I would never turn on ESPN for something other than live sports.

he got absolutely owned yesterday in some situation where he praised someone for their regular season performance and his opponent brought up all the times he has hated on A-rod and Skip had no response and coward away from the topic.

PTI is solid w/ Tony and Wilbon, not a big fan of anyone they replace the guys with when one isn't available.

My quick $.02:

PTI is the Godfather of this format, Kornheiser and Wilbon are still great foils and the show is still entertaining. Around the Horn is equally good, imo... I absolutely love Woody Paige. Sportsnation is the absolute worst show ESPN has ever created... they basically took their idea of insta-polling the 5,000 idiots with internet access with nothing to do during the day on sports topics that they then used to proclaim as the "voice of the people," and decided to create a live show that basically narrates this concept. The ideas expressed by both hosts are unbelievable generalist, knee-jerk, and basically ******ed.

Also, the Scott van Pelt voice mail is awesome, especially because I have been to the Bottle & Cork bar at Dewey Beach, DE and it is an absolute ****-show... I know he's a Maryland grad so it makes sense he used to go there (a DC-area summer beach location where everyone just gets wasted every weekend), but it's just funny.

PTI was just an extension of talk radio, I don't think it was that groundbreaking. It basically took the format of many new shows of the time, just with a running clock and a bell. I like it too, but a little annoyed at everyone proclaiming it as revolutionary.

GTFO he is awesome. He loves sabermetrics and he is a huge jerk. Also the BAM shtick is outstanding.

I'm not much of a Le Batard fan. He constantly borders on annoying and rarely brings anything intelligent to the table. I think Bob Ryan says some intelligent things on PTI, but he's such an awful speaker that it's hard to listen to at times.

Agree with Kyleb though, the BAM is funny. The devil BAM is the best from that video.

Le Batard is a real IRL troll but isn't a huge ass about it. Like he ruins PTI's silly games all the time but doesn't outright ruin the show like Bayless would (or does on any show he is ever on). It's the difference between someone like TSC (Bayless) and Thremp (Le Batard).

And yes the devil BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM is pretty obviously the best IMO.
