In most cases it is probably not the person's choice. ESPN is deliberately not extending or renewing contracts for high priced talent to cut costs, believing the brand is so strong their ratings will be fine.

Most of the time when a talent announces they are "leaving ESPN" it is near the end of their contract after ESPN has made it clear they are not going to get another one.

Feels like Skip will be irrelevant on FS1. Not sure how First Take goes on without him, he was the show. Nobody is gonna be able to troll like him and come off as somewhat serious.

ESPN is basically journalistic welfare for retired athletes. Any organization that gives a job to Emmitt Smith as a talking head when he can barely speak English needs to be heavily scrutinized.

Dare we dream of a possible Skip, Cowherd & Whitlock show?

Not sure who would watch outside of the train wreck potential

Nobody would watch because it's on FS1 and there are like 50 people in the world who even know where to find that channel.

Basically the pattern has been the same.

*Get on ESPN.

*Spout hot takes.

*Start to think that people care about you and aren't just mindlessly turning into ESPN.

*Wait for contract to run out and collect moron Fox's money even though people were just watching ESPN and don't care about you at all.
