The kids were Ned Stark and his brother Benjen, as evidenced by Bran saying "that's my father and my uncle Benjen" and the woman calling him Ned.

Ned Stark is the guy who got his head cutoff in S01E09. He was somewhat of a big deal. They've talked about him a few times since. Also his death causes a massive war iirc.

Yeah. Roose should have known better. I could see him either being blind to what Ramsay really is or having a big enough ego to think Ramsay would never do it. Similar to how Ramsay let Reek give him a haircut.

Roose should never have trusted Ramsay but he also shouldn't have trusted him with Winterfell,Theon, Sansa, etc;

I thought it was a fitting end to Roose given what he has done.

I also didn't mind Bran's part so much. It was quick, showed he was progressing, and they mentioned him not staying in the god damn cave forever. Arya's section was similar. I don't mind the bits of the outlying characters if they're done like that and at least hint at the fact that they might join the larger storyline sometime.
