Lots of hate for the finale it seems. I actually liked Arya murking Trant. This show does seem to bash you over the head with how bad people are though. It's not bad enough that Trant kills people, we need to show him as a pedo and a child beater to make his death more palatable. Arya ****ing owned him though, full on stabs in the eyes, all over the body, mocking him the whole time, then the throat slit. And she's 5' nothing.

Spoiler:
SHAME

So half of Stannis' army deserted. Did they run over to the Boltons or just wander off or a combination of both. Even with 2x the army size he's not winning that open field battle let alone a siege. Other army was what 100% horse mounted and roughly 2x the size to boot? How on earth does he plan on winning a siege even with his full army?
[also even at 2x that's a pretty tiny army to conquer the north. Danny horsey scene alone felt like it had that many dudes]

He was supposed to be on horse. Ramsay ruined that plan and the deserters took the remainder of the horses, apparently.

So without horses he was doomed ldo, but he wasn't supposed to BE without horses.

they were sellswords so they wouldn't have gone over to the Boltons. presumably they are chilling somewhere.

it was confusing how Roose made it a point to say that they didn't have a ton of men a few episodes ago, and now boom they have at least as many as Stannis had

note that part of Stannis's play is to win the North and then move some guys over to his army that had been fighting him

And I'm kind of scared of the Frankenstein Mountain, or whatever he's called now, even though he's a fictional character on a made up show. He's like 8ft tall and creepy as hell.

he was well past the point of no return
guessing he was just hoping that the Lord of Light would intervene on his behalf or something
nothing else he could do really

re: sellswords

from one of the Grantland recaps that made me lol

Quote:
Sellswords: This is the easiest occupation in the Seven Kingdoms, bringing all of the spoils with none of the war. No one even expects sellswords to fulfill their contracts: The worst consequence of a predictable desertion is that someone will say “Never trust a sellsword,” a piece of advice that everyone ignores.

Eh, she was pushed from atop the inner walls from ~100 feet up. They jumped into 30 foot snow drifts from the top of the 60 foot tall outer walls. Won't feel nice but they'll be okay.

What are the Nightswatch going to do when they burn Snow's body, but it doesn't burn?!?!?!!!?!?!?!!

Also liking the idea of Jon joining the whitewalkers as 1 of the icemen, and curbstomping Dany's army

do you know what happens if you falls into a 30 foot snow drift? you drown in snow. or freeze to death before you starve to death

but yeah the implication is that the snow is deep enough to save them. also Sansa was pretty clearly ok risking her "life" in that spot

Lordy Light supposedly warmed everything up

I guess his power only worked at Stannis' camp

The Night's Watch are legit ******ed, you'd think that after hearing the stories from everyone who went to Hardhomme they'd reconsider murdering their leader.

But nah let's stab him.

It's clearly possible to jump into snow from that height and survive. There are quite a few videos on youtube showing idiots doing this for fun and walking away (I'm guessing though they generally don't post the ones with serious injuries).

can we talk about how bad the jorah tyrion grayworm dario missandei scene was? seemed they literally each had at least one line that was wooden and only there for the audience to know what was happening/the characters were thinking. im the weirdo who likes all those characters but lawdy that scene and that finale was baaaaad. think stannis is alive cuz of that super subtle "do your duty" and cut away, the et tu olly was just basic cable EPIC bad. after 9 eps i was disappointed in this season but ok w GO(A)T going forward but......man barring a super turn around im w karak and will only continue watching to punish myself for that time i hit and ran that old broad on christmas a few years back

Yeah, it wasn't what I expected, but I liked it. Though some will say that is just SHOCK VALUE.
