Girls is pretty good, sometimes it takes me a week or longer to get around to watching the latest episode so yeah there are better things to do most of the time. For such a "small" show it sure does receive an inexplicable amount of media coverage.

I couldn't make it through episode 6 season 1. I was actually really looking forward to Deadwood because it came highly recommended from a good friend who has always given me great recommendations in the past. I tried to solider through, but I couldn't help myself. I checked the imdb page & once I saw that the Calamity Jane character appears in all 36 episodes, I decided to permanently get out on the show.

Wasn't all bad, there's some excellent acting & the cinematography is great, but it just moved so slow those first 5 1/2 episodes, Jesus. Or should I say GD? Lol.

Is Calamity Jane the one with the terrible voice that would never shut the **** up? That was one major reason I quit it too, right around the point you did.

I been thinking about going back to it tho, cuz I know how much everyone loves it.

Yeah she's Wild Bill & Sheriff Unser's (Sons of Anarchy reference) friend that does a lot of high-pitched squealing & goes on profanity-laced tirades about indistinguishable nonsense. She seemed like a bad-ass at first, but then when she backed down from the saloon owner & cried like a baby, I was like what a pointless, annoying character. I got my hopes up that she would catch an illness & die when she went out to tend to that diseased-ridden friend of the competing saloon owner, but imdb says that's not the case.

I'm tempted to watch a few more episodes just because of how much adulation the show receives, but I'm pretty sure I won't get back around to it; especially now that baseball season is picking back up again

True Detective just so ****ing good. Hate that I didn't have HBO when it first aired tho because I feel like I'm missing something crucial.

Justified S5 is the best show on television right now.

Pretty sure that if you're an HBO subscriber you can log into their website using your subscriber information & watch older content there. It's called HBO Go or something like that. It could be an additional cost, but there is definitely a way for you to go back and watch previous episodes.

HBO GO gets a from me. Great to watch on a laptop if you're bored and not at home.

calamity jane becomes a much more minor character in s2 and is given some of the better lines in the show

While I can understand being annoyed with Jane's character, she's very well acted. And Deadwood has no shortage of great female characters.
