That was such an unpleasant hour of TV. Objectively good and well executed, but left me feeling empty, like most BB.

Agree with Rat. That was I think the most compelling emotional and draining hour of tv I've ever watched.

Watching the lives of the bad guys unravel is usually supposed to feel justified or "good" in some way but man that just felt hollow and sad.

Our main "hero" throughout the series sees the last pieces of what he cares about abandon him and turn on him, and in the end he is desperately searching to find the tiniest scrap of salvation because he can't even look at himself without seeing the monster everybody else does.

It was just a sad episode where everybody we've gotten to know over 5 seasons had their lives completely ****ed up at the hands of some no name neo-nazi meth cooks.

Vince isnt concerned with fairness and this makes him an awesome and unusual TV writer

Ive read some reviews and comments about Walts last ditch good guy move. Didnt feel much but disgust with either of them

Is Walt going to come back to save Jessie or for revenge on the skin heads? Obviously both could be the answer but the prevailing one is what goes a long way in whether they are going to try and make Walt a redeemable character by the end or just have him be he full on scarface evil guy.

Saw a review saying they doubted he'd care about saving Jessie, but his ego couldn't handle someone cooking his blue meth. Was an interesting angle. I'm guessing the 60million would factor into the revenge angle too.

There was the scene for the first episode of this mini season when Walt comes back, his house is fenced up/spray painted etc, and he has what looks to be an automatic weapon or shotgun in his trunk. I assume he comes back for something.

He didn't look desperate or angry in those flash forwards so revenge for his family seems unlikely.

He came back for a reason and seems hard to imagine it not involving the nazis though. So that either leaves a Jessie angle and/or revenge for money/killing hank.

Seems hard to imagine him caring about Jessie but that also seeks like a good guess on where its gonna to.

Would he come back to kill the nazi's though? Even if he uses the riacin against Uncle Jack, there's still the band of merry men to lead the group/make Jesse cook. Would he really go up against a firefight to save Jesse?

IMO it has to be to kill one person. Either Jesse, or darkhorse Saul (maybe he sells Walt's family out to the nazi's?)

There are only so many reasons for him to come back. Considering they kept Jesse alive it narrows it down a bit. Jesse or Nazis really only enemies left.

The reason I'm really curious is because whether they give Walt a redemptive arc in the final episodes is a pretty big deal.

Actually it's all Walt's fault. And really, could there be any happy ending to this?

Agree about the sad part though. I thought Skyler was going to die. Flynn calling the cops. Then Walt taking the baby was gut wrenching.

The reactions to Walt telling Skyler that they would never see Hank again was pretty gut wrenching too. Marie has been through a lot with Hank(shooting, depression, minerals) and then when things are going right for them(getting healthier,promotion,catching Walt) Hank's killed. Intense.

I thought Flynn was gonna get accidentally stabbed which would have been way too brutal too watch.

Made me laugh how midway through the episode, the opening credits were still rolling. Also how Walt unloaded a whole lot of MISOGYNY on Skielure. BB GOAT.

so i realize the nazis stole his money and blah blah, but it seems like to make him come back the nazis would have to threaten the safety of his family or something (which i guess maybe they would now have a connection thanks to his identifying hank as family.)

i doubt he'd come back just for revenge killing. it seems more plausible that he realizes his life is insufferably pointless now and the only way to redeem himself is to save jessy, and somehow kill the nazis and get the money to his family before he dies (in that scenario i think he would sort of escape fate of dying a drug lord and instead die a quasi hero, and one could argue he would die due to cancer anyhow so why not make his family a fortune in the meantime; the hank death was a really ****ed up and non excusable happenstance though.)

Walt learns Jesse is still alive. Walt absolutely blames Jesse for all of this at this point. Walt is coming to kill Jesse. That's like... 90% here I think.

And some of the other 10% is Walt coming to kill Todd specifically for outsmarting him, lying and getting Walt to let the nazis leave Jesse alive so Todd can get Jesse to help him, not to pry DEA info.

Well to be fair it's technically Jesse's fault. Sure, the whole thing is Walt's fault, but it was Jesse's trap that brought the surprise visitors along too. Had he just taken his new identity, or STFU in general, or done things the way the Hank wanted then it wouldn't have played out that way. As a result the outcome was worse (way worse really) for every single party but the Nazis.

Don't think the ricin for Jack really makes sense though, he's a bit player. The ricin would be for someone more relevant. It could be for Walt himself if he wants to go out in some spectacular fashion. Besides him it really only leaves Jesse and Skyler, and the latter doesn't make any sense because he just took action to ensure that she is off the hook. So yeah I got nothing.

In the flash forward when he returned to the house and casually said hello to the neighbor Carol I figured he somehow managed to stay clear of suspicion but now that he is clearly wanted it makes that exchange more interesting.

Yeah I thought it would end up where he was known to be Heisenberg but there was no case against him.

But his phone call ended that.

I was thinking the ricin for himself too. It's got to be hard to be able to poison someone who knows you want to kill them. You have to have access to something they are going to consume and not get caught doing it. But if it's for suicide then why not just shoot yourself unless you do both I guess?

I liked how when she went for the knife, both the knife block and the phone were centered in the shot. Earlier in the episode (before any of the drama went down), they made a point of showing the knife block next to the phone, which I thought was rather odd, but now made sense.

She could either dial 911 (no way Walt has time to stop her from summoning the police), or she could grab the knife and run him out. She didn't even hesitate to go for the knife.

So did I.

Walt saving Jesse would be WOAT level writing considering he completely went out if his way to get Jesse killed/captured in the desert
