i watched most of the first season of lost on netflix. then i decided "this is alright but theres like 100 more episodes and i just want to know what happens" so one day i just went to the lost wikia and read the remaining season summaries. afterwards i did about a 20 second bertstare.gif and thought "wow saved myself a ton of hours"

LOST is approximately the last major network show I watched, or maybe 24. Whichever show ended last is the one. Have there been any good shows on them since then?

There are some good seasons in there. It's best to pretend the ending never happened and just enjoy where it peaked. They did a good job at creating mystery, and really poor job of explaining it; my only question is why they ever attempted to explain it as opposed to leaving it all open ended. The island was always a macguffin anyways. There is no need to explain.

There have been quite a number of good comedies on network.

lost is good for what it is (and i like it more than i should) but lol at putting it anywhere near BB

Wire > BB

I watched into the 3rd season or so of BB and stopped. None of the characters were appealing and I just wanted everyone to die. Same thing happened with Dexter.

Dexter had a gigantic drop-off from S1/S2 to S3. However, BB's worst two seasons are S1 by far and then S2 by far.

The effort the writers put into Lost of almost every episode and making it apart of past world things (books, numbers, history, etc) it was pretty deep.

BB is all, wow drugs, blah, lame story.

Lost > Wire > BB. Pretty simple.

The top seasons of Lost > all. Did they have some ****ty ones and episodes. Of course. Was the ending piss poor. Yes.

But you all know....

meh I think the wire is really overrated here - I've watched all 5 seasons and I really don't get what all the hubbub is about

the end of season 3 to like 3/4 through season 4 is pretty elite though

I don't understand people who say BB is predictable. If you say that, then pretty much any show should be "predictable" from basic plot structure standpoint. If you've watched enough tv you know that there are only so many directions you can go in

I approve of this thread. OOTV is the WOAT, ESPN is only slightly better

it really shouldnt be. it should be done. maybe start with like ~3 days a week, have someone who would want to host pick the best times and im sure plenty of SE'ers would offer to be apart of the panel. just have a rotating panel of 4 and then record a video skype call or something. doesnt even have to be video could just be a 'podcast'. maybe have producers come up with topics.

fwiw i think its a great idea and if others were serious about it would definitely be down to discuss it more seriously.

its obviously not close. it is frustrating, however, to see people completely ignore 5 great seasons of tv bc zomg they didnt answerz all da questions. lost was a good show that blew a chance to be an all-time great by putting out a sub-par last season.

more people need to watch fringe bc it was fantastic but, fringe's last season was pretty MEH for their standards as well. if it was more significant it would have gotten a similar reaction lost did. lost>fringe fo sho

It wasn't that they didn't answer all the questions, it was that the last season sucked overall and answers that they did provide were completely loltastic

meh disagree, I thought Fringe did amazing despite terribly low budget and losing Nemo in the last couple seasons. There was a constant pressure of possible ending of the show the last 3-4 seasons. Considering the terrible conditions, I think they did admirable job and I still enjoyed how they ended it.
