I'm loving this season and I think that running out of a lot of book material has been a great thing for the show. they are moving so much faster than they used to, the pieces are finally moving into place for the climax / end states for lots of these people

but I chuckled at this. however:

Spoiler:

also also, I'm guessing Sansa does actually play a significant role in rallying Northern houses to their side which is pretty massively important. (otherwise what else is she going to be doing?)

Hottest alive on GoT is the little Sand Snake. She took belt from Myranda and the Red Woman holds the Intercontinental Championship.

Sansa and Arya have perfectly diverged in looks at the series has moved on.

Gotta disagree with you there. She's way hotter with the Smith college haircut.

GRRM is fully to blame. His writing is horrible. He did create an interesting world with some interesting characters but the writing is really bad. It's so bad all copies should be locked up in a Dothraki-lolTemple and get Khaleesied.
I'd instantly bow and swear my allegiance if she flew into this world and set all GRRM books on fire and walked out of the ashes.

[Also I thought she doesn't do naked anymore...I saw tits for quite a long time. 2/4 GoT this season ending in titscenes...alas one could have been cut roughly 5-10 seconds short imo]

I think you're being a little hard on GRRM. His work isn't going to be taught in lit classes anytime soon but it's not that bad. I mean most fantasy/sci-fi writing is **** in the first place and I assume that's because of all the deus ex magicka associated with fantasy but as far as the genre goes he's probably pretty high up there compared to his peers.
SETV >>>> OOTV: WOAT >>>> GOT Quote

His writing is objectively bad (as is a bunch of fantasy, granted).
Sci-fi is generally a lot better than fantasy imo.

GRRM does some things well and some things horrendously. His removal from the show can be seen on both fronts imo. The pace has picked up and that's certainly a positive. Some characters are coming off worse than when GRRM was at the helm (see: littlefinger who I'm pretty sure is not supposed to be looking like a button clicker yet is) and that's a negative.

He was always good with characters and making very few things strictly black and white. Characters had motivations and you could at least see why they were doing what they were doing instead of just doing things cause they are bad/good guys.

Not as high on Dany scene as others but was still sweet. That scene compared to some early Dany badass scenes were like the difference in watching John McClane walk through broken glass in Die Hard and watching him hang off of a fighter jet in Live Free or Die Hard. Both were pretty cool visually and a bad ass thing to do, but one had you much more invested in what was happening. I know I mentioned the "nothing bad is going to happen to her until the end game so it's hard to get as invested" thing before, so this will be the last time I mention it.

Regardless, another strong episode. Season is shaping up pretty well and I'm thrilled we are getting progress in the Mereen stuff finally. Sansa has been great. II stuff has my interest. No idea what's going to happen in KL so I'm interested there as well. I feel like Arya has been a bit mediocre for a bit so I'm hoping that picks up.

Also, that smirking whore from Highgarden still tops my list. Can't help it.

GRRM hasn't been "removed" from the show though. the only real difference this year is

- he isn't writing the one episode as he has done in seasons past
- the TV and book plotlines have diverged at a increasing pace

the world building and interesting/logical/consistent plotlines and characters are the one huge thing that GRRM did super well that the show isn't or can't doing. most recently...like why does Davos care so much about Jon Snow? and why has it taken him 4 episodes to get around to asking Melisandre what happened to the Lord (and Princess) he served his entire life for and loved?

both answers are basically ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and that's something you won't find in the books. you can figure stuff out from clues, characters work on logical (or at least internally consistent) paths, etc. the "writing" may be bad, sure, but I guess like The Walking Dead, which is like the dumbest show on TV, I watch or read primarily to be entertained, and it does that

LF's plan in the show certainly looks a bit weird.

Emilia Clarke confirmed that it was her and not a body double and/or CGI. The stuff about her non-nude contract apparently wasn't true.

ah, was under the impression that GRRM was still a rather large voice in the direction of the show aside from his episode (and apart from him being responsible for the source material of course) and was no longer doing that. if that's wrong then oops. good questions re: davos.

if only someone could figure out some sort of middle-out compression (similar to jerking multiple dicks at the same time) that would solve this problem. the're probably too busy working on a black box project for the mole people.

I will second HBO go being the worst. My ps3 is pretty far from my wireless router. Amazon and Netflix fine. HBO go spotty.

Hulu fine too which reminds me I gotta cancel before my free trial is over. I only signed up cuz they had season 9 of peep show.

She probably just asked not to be nude unless it was thematically appropriate. They've def been hiding her more than any of the other women characters that are getting it on on the reg.

Putting the clown in clowntable with this one.

He isn't some literary genius but the man knows how to write well enough and he is an expert world builder and character creator.

I agree with the bolded but there's some legit terribad sci-fi lit out there and a lot of it, I'd say much more bad than good by a wide margin. The most popular sci-fi franchise oat (Star Wars) could have been written by a 3rd grader

3 strikes you're out.

1. his writing is objectively turrrbl.
2. I hear this a lot and I don't see it. I'm not sure what "expert world builder" means. I'll grant he's capable of setting the stories in a million different places. But to what end? Are any all that important? I'll grant it's his strongest skill, but I see a lot of the vast expanse just as an excuse to have more to write and to introduce us to more flat, crappy characters. Which leads to...
3. I mainly had to stop reading his books because 99% of the characters were all flat, 2D nobodies and could easily be swapped with one another. The vast majority completely lack depth. And the fact so many get killed off in epic fashion is evidence of this. You can kill all the starks cuz they're like totes whatevs in the grand scheme of things anyway.
