2. I hear this a lot and I don't see it. I'm not sure what "expert world builder" means. I'll grant he's capable of setting the stories in a million different places. But to what end? Are any all that important? I'll grant it's his strongest skill, but I see a lot of the vast expanse just as an excuse to have more to write and to introduce us to more flat, crappy characters. 3. I mainly had to stop reading his books because 99% of the characters were all flat, 2D nobodies and could easily be swapped with one another. The vast majority completely lack depth. And the fact so many get killed off in epic fashion is evidence of this. You can kill all the starks cuz they're like totes whatevs in the grand scheme of things anyway.
