And if they wanted to stage a coup, why wouldn't they just refuse to open the gates and keep the Wildlings/Jon Snow on the wrong side of the wall? Ser Alliser definitely took his sweet time giving the order to open the gate, but then did it, so I just figured oh, he might be an *******, but he recognizes his duty as a member of the Night's Watch to obey the Lord Commander. One episode later, butnahhhhhhhh.

I guess if they had been refused at the wall, they would have just marched back to the ships and sailed south, knowing that a mutiny was underway. Still seems dumb though to follow through with it knowing what was coming.

What's weird is that I've been rewatching GoT early seasons with the extra features, and they have a lot of interviews with the showrunners. The seem like very intelligent, eloquent guys, so I don't know what happens that makes them put some of this brittle **** cake on screen.

Not enough praise of the Helen Mirren part of Last Week Tonight. **** was off the hook good.

Stannis had no point at all. Thanks for wasting my life.

Let the wildlings in the gate then kill the one guy they respect. Seems legit. Lol GRRM. What exactly is their plan now? Actually I don't care.

book tidbit

Spoiler:
In the books after Hardhome, Jon sails around the Wall to avoid the White Walkers and returns to Castle Black from the other side. It doesn't make any sense for him to sail back to somewhere he can still be caught by the WW. Yes, that makes the TV show that much dumber.

hate to be the "but in the books" guy, but they don't kill him for that in the books, they actually have a reason, so it's not grrms fault in this case.

Stannis the Mannis youtube video is, for some reason, even more amusing now.

Spoiler:
Jon actively raises an army to defeat Ramsay, who has sent a letter to Castle Black that Stannis is dead, and retake Winterfell. He rallies the Wildings and also orders the other members of the Watch to join him. So he's effectively breaking his vows, committing treason, etc.

Yep. I guess I'll put this in spoilers too, even though the main event already happened on the show.

Spoiler:
The show version of Jon Snow getting knifed was laughable. I know "LOL books" and all, but at least it made a modicum of sense why they would do that. In the show it just seemed like the NW guys were in a bad mood.

The mutiny against Jon was clearly just like the one at Crasters. Only half, if not less of the nights watch wanted to do this, so they had to do it in semi secret rather than have everyone choose sides/fight a bunch of wildlings etc.

Lol haters is fine when it's "I hate Sansa, bitch" or "lebrons is such a doosh" but to lol haters when people are pointing out their exact complaints about the plot or logic and motivation of the characters and you don't care to say why they're wrong, well buddy you might be a tad simple. Or to put it nicer your brain is lazy

The motives for his stabbing in the books is flimsy too but I don't really mind because these guys are, you know, a bunch of rapists and murderers.

Only book spoilers

I've been talking **** about books 4 and 5 for a while, but at least the books did this plot better.

Spoiler:
Books

Jon: Hey that Ramsey is a dick, I'm calling us to fight him

Wall: Dude, we don't get involved in conflicts of the rest of the kingdom. We protect people from what is north of the wall (IE WHITE WALKERS). Sorry but we gotta stab you so we can concentrate on White Walkers.

Show

Jon: Hey I saved some humans from north of the wall.

Wall: Those guys were dicks. But even after you saved them, guess we gotta stab you.

There's also an air hostess that survived a 35k foot fall because she fell in snow

Twenty-two year old, Vesna Vulovic, was a flight attendant on Yugoslav Airlines DC-9 enroute from Stockholm to Belgrade. A bomb, which may have been planted in the front baggage compartment of the plane, exploded onboard when the aircraft was at 33,330 ft. Vulovic was in the tail section that fell to Earth. It landed at just the right angle on a slope of snow covered mountains. She was the only survivor among the 28 passengers and crew. She broke both her legs and was paralyzed from the waist down. She was in a coma for 27 days. Her recovery took 17 months. She continued to fly with Yugoslav Airlines for 20 more years.
there's no problem in that jump
