I assume people were just really confused half of season 1 and were just going with the flow. 3>2=1>4 so far for me.

I loved season 1. I thought it was fantastic but the only OMG moment for me was Ned.

I had only hated Viserys for 6 episodes so I wasn't invested like with I was with Joff. Drogo wasn't a particularly interesting character so it wasn't a shocker to see him go either. I would have liked to see Robert stick around longer, but again, I just wasn't terribly invested.

Other than that, Sansa was whiney, Catelyn was sorta whiney, Arya was in BOSS training, and I didn't know WTF Baelish was up to. I probably liked Dany the best during season 1. Tyrion and Ned would be tied for a close 2nd. Behind that I put the juxtaposition of Jon being overqualified for his lowly position at the wall while Robb is thrust into being Lord of Winterfell and shortly thereafter way over his head as he's calling the banners and claiming kingship in the north. But both of those stories are just beginning and become far more interesting later on.

Thanks, I will try this. I know SOMETHING is wrong, earlier this year I had 3x the shows on there I currently have and it wasn't anywhere near 90%.

So, apparently HBO is feeling pretttttttttay confident about the last episode, 'Children'.

The producers of the show called it perhaps the finest hour they've produced. And HBO only submitted a single episode for emmy consideration of 'Best Writing' - Children. They submitted three episodes for 'Best Directing' - The Laws of Gods and Men (trial + Tyrion epic ****-you speech), The Watchers on the Wall (most recent), and Children.

They'll probably behead the writer at the Emmy's just for shock value and let some grip receive the award for them. I bet it's Samwell Tarly's fatter cousin or something. ****ing bastards.

Hadn't heard any of that though, sounds promising. Extra ~15 minutes too

I was a little slow to completely come around on Fargo, but thought that episode was really good. The fall of (a) man is complete. Almost wish they just left it at apple pie and took a rain check on the Eden line.

That's actually something I meant to mention. It's cool because it's a nice effect and you see the arrows and it hits on the ice&fire theme but it seems like a pretty dumb idea in an actual battle. Unless you want to set something on fire it seems to be -EV to use flaming arrows in a dark setting. Only allows the enemy to see the arrows. It's way more demoralizing to be hit out of nowhere and well superGinger actually dodged them...doubt she can do that without flames.

i still think i would be pretty demoralized when hit by a flaming arrow

i dunno how demoralized i'd be. probably more of the "aw shucks" feeling you get when you're hit in paintball

Based on the previews I figured it had to be at least that long. I believe their previous finales have cleared an hour as well. Some of the finales for The Wire finales went much longer than standard eps as well. Lots of characters to advance (or kill) before going into hibernation for nine months.

Nobody seems to have mentioned this, but during the credits only the actors appearing in that episode get billing. This week it led with Kit Harrington (usually he's pretty far down the roll) and there were a total of five actors credited, whereas there are typically probably twenty or so. So it was clear at that point that they weren't leaving The Wall.

Going to go against the grain and give this ep a big meh for me. It was pretty cool visually but I found it repetitive and really the whole 100 : 1 ratio that keeps getting shoved down our throats means that it shouldn't be close even if they have a strong defense and some Tyrion at Blackwater-type shenanigans up their sleeve. Numbers are too overwhelming.

But mostly I don't care if they all got killed. Jon Snow is aight to some degree but I would sacrifice his character if it meant no more time spent dicking around The Wall.

I think it's been pretty bad. It almost feels like I'm watching something an experienced TV writer who's always hated 24 would write - like as a joke. This past Monday's episode was the worst of the season by far imo. I'm glad I only have to be invested for 12 eps this time around.

It's sorta fitting that Yvonne Strahovski is on the show now since it jumped the shark in a way very similar to Dexter.

Only thing that got me about the last episode is the tactics of the wildling army. I mean, their strategy is damn near the worst one possible. I know they are supposed to be undisciplined, but ffs Mance has to bring something to the table. But I just tell my brain to shut up and sit back and enjoy.

Like Jon said in the episode Mance was just 'testing the defenses'. I mean, when you have like a 100k army compared to 100 you can afford to **** with the enemy a bit

Although yeah the whole attack the one point on a 1000 mile border where your enemy is strongest seems a bit suboptimal.

Maybe they're attacking Castle Black as a diversion while the rest of the army crosses somewhere else totally undefended? I dunno, guess Mance just isn't Sun Tzu.
