Forgot to include a list of contenders I haven't watched. Both of these qualify.

Didn't intend to include rankings but had to rank the dramas so I roughly ranked the rest. Larry David is definitely the best character of the two but I like the variety of AD more.

I'll try a rewatch, only seen a few episodes.

I got The Shield and Justice confused. Have not seen The Shield.

Good point about F&G, guess you could call it a dramedy. Just watched this recently and couldn't believe only one season was produced.

parks and rec is pretty good, but man something about it must really do it for you.

Archer and Aquateen Hunger Force arguably the funniest shows on television, depending on taste.

Last Season of the Wire clearly the worst, if you dont think this your subjectivity is objectively wrong.

****, I'll go further. I liked it more than any other comedy this last season. I looked forward to Bob's Burgers episodes more than any show that wasn't Breaking Bad.

I think it's the worst, but is also a very underrated season. Might be because I'm interested in writing/journalism so I was absorbed enough in the newspaper angle despite its less memorable characters, but mostly I thought the main plotline that season was hilarious and I really liked how all of the stories connected with each other.

im like 3/4 the way through season 2

i never had this problem with wire/sopranos/GOT/MM/BB/deadwood

not that it has to be on that tier by any means but i enjoy sherlock a lot more than i enjoy the shield (i know completely diff shows)

i just think there is a lot of overacting and corny/std tv drama elements of the show that really turn me off. Some of Vick's facial expressions really bother me...am i really the only one. The shield kind of reminds me of OZ in its ridiculousness idk (and i watched every season but the last of oz)..that is an exaggeration since no show could possibly compare to the ridiculousness of oz but w/e

i hate the acting of the chick cop and her partner julius and i hate the blonde due from sons of anarchy as an actor too. i just think they suck idk

i think i like rome more than i like the shield
I don't think the acting is great, nor bad really, but am enjoying the show so far. Just started season 3. Can't really rank it so far but I'm willing to see it through as enough people itt (or FAQ) have given it approval.

SEASON 3/4 SHIELD SPOILER

Spoiler:
Decided to download episode 5 last night. In the previous episode, Tavon has a serious car accident post fight with Shane. Anyway, episode starts off with Acevada having rough sex with what looked like a g*nger. Seemed a bit strange as I had never seen this character. Then I'm pretty sure I hear him muttering the words "Tavon" so I think it kind of makes sense. Could be a few months down the line which would be strange but whatever. It takes a couple of minutes before I register that I've downloaded s04e05.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

------

Only got through the first couple of episodes of season 5 of the Wire. Not that I hated it. But meh.

Problem w/ season 2 of the Wire is that I think you're supposed to like and sympathize with the dock workers. But they were just a bunch of douchebags and I didn't give a **** about them.

these

S5 would have been better imo if they had the extra 2-3 eps that all the other seasons had to flesh things out more, but i do agree with a lot of the criticisms about it. pointing out that it might be the weakest of the 5 is kind of meaningless to me because they're all pretty damn good.

Arrested Development is as overrated as The Wire. Very comparable imo

S2 of The Wire is okish at best and S5 is fairly bad.

when a show gets cancel too early, it becomes overrated. when a show goes on too long, it becomes overrated. If dexter was cancelled after season 4, people prob would be salivating over it. If AD went on a few more seasons , we might be hating it. Well def a show like freak and geeks. was an ok show but got super hyped from being one season with a great future cast

I don't think you're supposed to like them, though I think you're supposed to find some of their antics amusing. They do fall flat in that regard - when one of the most interesting character traits you can come up with is having a huge [censored], you're reaching. Still think they are portrayed sympathetically although you have to imagine their past and what they represent to do that properly.

I don't think a few more episodes would have helped. imo S5 suffered from subpar character arcs, a meh industry of focus, and also because it's the final season of the GOAT TV show which followed the GOAT season of any TV show. Kind of doomed to be a disappointment.

But you're right, it was still pretty good.

PLAYING Skyler White on the television show “Breaking Bad” for the past five seasons has been one of the most rewarding creative journeys I’ve embarked on as an actor. But the role has also taken me on another kind of journey — one I never would have imagined.

But I was unprepared for the vitriolic response she inspired. Thousands of people have “liked” the Facebook page “I Hate Skyler White.” Tens of thousands have “liked” a similar Facebook page with a name that cannot be printed here. When people started telling me about the “hate boards” for Skyler on the Web site for AMC, the network that broadcasts the show, I knew it was probably best not to look, but I wanted to understand what was happening.

One of? I'd like to see the other CREATIVE JOURNEYS she's been on that are comparable in her storied career. Maybe playing Jerry's gf was a bit more rewarding.

At least she's went from WOAT to slightly not woat so far this season.

EDIT: to be fair, she did kill the scene where Jerry accuses her of sleeping with cousin Jeffrey

Anna Gunn played Mrs. Bullock on Deadwood, a show that not only is pretty damn good, but who all the actors rave about working on to this day, saying it was like nothing else they have or ever will experience in their careers.

1. LOST

2. Wire

3. BB

4. GoT

5. Arrested Development

I've been marathoning Mad Men this week and am through 4 seasons, would prob put it 6th but it seems too slow to watch week to week. House of Cards would be on my list if there were more seasons.

HoC is doing a 2nd season right?

4th season of Arrested Development hurt it a bit imo but still great overall. Not in my top 5 but probably top 10-15.

2+ hours til Breaking Bad S5 EP11...might move past The Wire for me if it finishes strong.
