I find s3 to be severely overrated round these parts.

Come at me.

Just started the wire..

Hope it pics up. Kinda slow and over repped so far imo. But I'm only 4 eps in so I'll "tred lightly."

I wish HBO go was on ps3 or Blu-Ray app.. Being forced to sit at my desk is lame.

I watched season 5 of the wire first, then season 2, then 1, 3, 4.

Have seen all of them at least 3 times by now. I remember this guy I worked with who had seen them all couldn't believe that I would watch them out of order.

I was renting them from the library and didn't want to wait. Looking back, it was actually kind of cool watching it like that.

1. Joey ( was consistent good every season)
2. Ross ( peak somewhere in the middle season. was probably the best character on the show at some point but a lot of bad seasons too)
3. Monica ( They really should have done more fat monica episodes. they were too good)
4. Chandler ( Peak early basically unbearable after being with Monica)
5. Rachel ( whatever)
6. Phoebe ( why was she even on the show?)

i just don't like the shield that much

im like 3/4 the way through season 2

i never had this problem with wire/sopranos/GOT/MM/BB/deadwood

not that it has to be on that tier by any means but i enjoy sherlock a lot more than i enjoy the shield (i know completely diff shows)

i just think there is a lot of overacting and corny/std tv drama elements of the show that really turn me off. Some of Vick's facial expressions really bother me...am i really the only one. The shield kind of reminds me of OZ in its ridiculousness idk (and i watched every season but the last of oz)..that is an exaggeration since no show could possibly compare to the ridiculousness of oz but w/e

i hate the acting of the chick cop and her partner julius and i hate the blonde due from sons of anarchy as an actor too. i just think they suck idk

i think i like rome more than i like the shield

Donald Draper
Nucky Thompson
Walter White

If you have a samsung DVD player I think it may have access to HBOGO through an AP. I have a Samsung Smart TV which has it--it's pretty great even with HBO on Demand with my cable, the amount of content is so much greater with GO.

Personally I've tried to first 5 or so episodes of the wire around 3 times and it never sticks. I am also one to watch a series almost straight if I get into it. Watched all of Sopranos in about a month time, even shorter for the first 3 seasons of breaking bad, etc. I know I need to fight through the early part of the wire for a big payoff but I just can't do it....yet.

I'm watching Sopranos for the second time.

S2 confirmed mega elite.

So many intense scenes.

Last ep of BB was more intense which proves why BB>Sopranos

Yeah I'm watching the first episode. This blond chick "Sunny" is losing her mind right now. God I hope this is all real.

Tough one. I think top 3 are obv. Soprano/Stinger/Nucky all have the 'it's just business' mindset but Stringer and Nucky have done more unnecessary **** I think.
Spoiler:
Stringer ****ing his nephews girl...killing his nephew. Nucky killing Margaret's husband in S1.
Note - i've only seen like seasons 1-2 of the Sopranos.

Swearengen is evil, man. I don't think he ever did anything that wasn't in his best interests.. no charity, no empathy.

But then you have the black hole of morality that is Walter White. Dude is Swearengen with more intellect, ruthlessness, opportunity, and ability to manipulate. And he's on the clock. He has done so much evil **** in like 2 years? it's ridiculous. I don't think it's even close.

I feel like this would completely have ruined the series for me.

Yeah, that's kind of sick actually when you think about it. But I have 2 as the worst, just to nitpick.

The Wire is absolutely a show you have to stick with for a while before things begin to pay off. Once it clicks with you, you'll see what I mean.

Interesting way to watch it wrt McNulty. In general, seasons 5 and 2 are basically McNulty at rock bottom and 1, 3, 4 are when he's happiest/most productive.

i think the biggest problem with season 5 is that the whole newspaper angle is just boring and hard to care about. Also Freamon was way out of character imo.

Season 5 is terrible and is only saved by Jamie Hector.

1 > 4 > 2 > 3 >> 5 in terms of genius...in terms of "best" it's more up to debate.
