I watched a fair bit of below deck after it was talked about a while back itt and wound up talking to a couple who run their own two person yacht charter in the same area at the weekend, they said that most of the people on the show have wrecked their careers and cant get jobs anymore because of the show.

I don't know what to make of the BLL finale. So Brenda or whatever her name is inadvertently killed Perry by pushing him down some stairs because he was bashing on Nicole Kidman? Is that it? The odd way that was shown interspersed with shots of the ocean or whatever it was made my head hurt so I kinda tuned out.

The final ep was definitely high on melodrama and low on the fun cattiness which had made it enjoyable up to that point. At least they ended it before forcing us to endure Ed finding out about his SLUT wife sleeping with the theater dude.

Thought the finale of BLL was great and Reese/Kidman delivered all time great career performances on the show.

just finished up BLL and thought it was also great.

reese/nicole/SHAILENE all obviously slayed hard. thought the shrink and renata were pretty elite as well.

still can't believe the shrink was calamity jane.

tuq n fuq,

bonnie br0. bonnie.

I dont have any specific issue with the story that I can think of and obviously the actresses were all great, just didnt feel much when it was over. seemed like the whole series could have been condensed into a movie

perry really escalated quickly from discreet abuse at home to beating the **** out of multiple women in public

Teenage virgin auctioning off her v card online was kinda wtf.

I think they set up the story well but the conclusion and the way it unfolded was kinda meh. It had some high moments though. I'm not sure why they explored the story line of Madeline cheating without fully vetting it.

It would have been a lot more interesting if it was a pre mediated killing than a liquored up school function where things got out of hand, but everyone did the right thing.

I really didn't like that it supposed to be some kind of twist that Zoey Kravitz pushed him, and that we are supposed to think that they needed to cover that up for some reason.

I thought the better twist was that everyone turned out to be professional singers.

Yeah Bonnie being the killer was just random and meaningless. Why not have Jane be the one to push him?

And why would anyone ever think they need to cover this up? Perry was on the verge of beating his wife to death, they pushed him off of her, and he fell. He was also drunk. No idea why anyone would think covering that up is necessary, especially when Celeste was covered in bruises as evidence of what happened.

Came here just to get spoilers on BLL. An all time ****ty show. Holy moly.

Through two eps, Brockmire is amazing. Azaria is a legend.

Probably true but sad! When the show started featuring more Ed (the beach argument, his lol talk with the ex) is when I eye rolled and I was out on the show. Took another ep to cut the cord tho.

BLL is a catty soap opera with all time great performances by Reese and Nicole, not some super deep murder mystery with a tight plot.

Who cares if a bunch of women who just got attacked by an abusive lunatic who died in front of them among tons of other crazy baggage didn't handle the situation GTO with the cops? You could nitpick that with basically any show.
SETV >>>> OOTV: WOAT >>>> GOT Quote

I disagree, I don't think the show was trying to convey that they didn't handle the situation optimally, they were trying to slowroll the reveal that they were"covering up for her," otherwise they wouldn't have played out the scene the way they did by making it important who pushed her.

Also, lets not revise the show to be some totally light watch, they were actively trying to add in random plot that they thought were juicy red herrings for the audience throughout the entire show. And the flash forward sequences to the police interviews were entirely plot-driven (a lot of them don't even make sense in hindsight now that I think about it).

Still mildly enjoyed the show overall though.

I took it as the women uniting themselves with Bonnie and protecting her (despite none of them being close with her and some outright being jealous of and disliking her) and coming together/forming a bond over the horrible ordeal they experienced.

The "twist" was who died and how, the entire episode was the buildup to that - not that Bonnie was the killer and they covered it up (aside from the reveal of the murderer and the victim)

Yes from an "optimal" perspective it wasn't handled properly, that's not the point, every character in this show handled many situations suboptimally.

I'm not sure what they were going for but I really enjoyed the show and thought it was entertaining. There was some bad dialogue at times and other flaws but I don't think the finale "reveal" was one of them.

Edit - post below me puts it more concisely

it really doesn't matter, what made the show good is that it had well written dialogues for top notch actresses. The visuals were great too. As long as it wasn't an alien that pushed the guy off the stairs I really don't care.
