I highly doubt Beliema meant that as a compliment. UF is a perennial juggernaut in recruiting and he is "shocked" at the success they are having this year when their class didn't even crack the top 10? Why is he singling them out anyway? Seems obvious that it was contrived and he was alluding to sketchy tactics.

Annnnnddddd Gus already hired his replacement.

Kodi Burns is coming back to Auburn. He was a graduate assistant under Malzhan a few years back. He literally was just hired by Arizona St to coach their running backs. Guess he couldn't turn down a chance to come back to Auburn.

He's an Auburn favorite because he played at Auburn and was praised when he decided to stay at auburn when he got benched and was told to switch positions. He was a highly touted qb coming in but that didn't work out so well obviously. He was a team player and switched to WR under Malzhan when he was our OC. He did alright. Caught a few td passes from cam newton back in the day. One in the natty. It's an alright move. Don't think Gus had many options.

Kodi is from my city and he comes from a great family. He was a legend as a kid, but he never grew anymore after about 8th grade. He should have a pretty bright future in front of him as a coach. He was a 4.0 student out of high school.

Losing Craig hurts though. He was a great recruiter. I doubt Kodi will be able to match his recruiting prowess anytime soon. Not sure if Kodi has ever helped with recruiting to be honest... at any of his short coaching stints.
