Everybody uses hostesses on recruiting weekends, Lane is the one who turned it into a delivery service for you Sr. year of high school.

SEC Network Aims for $500mil/year

Quote:
The SEC is asking $1.30 in the 11 state SEC footprint.

That would be $28.5 million per team just from the SEC Network's money in the SEC.
Quote:
At $2 a month -- a number that will certainly be hit over the next decade -- the SEC Network would bring in $720 million a year just from the 11 state SEC footprint.

At $3 a month -- a number that's also not unrealistic -- the SEC Network would go over a billion dollars in revenue just from the 11 state footprint.

Again, none of these revenue figures even count what the league could make from the other 39 states or from advertising.

$28.5MM/team would be nuts. My understanding is the tier 3 media rights (which teams previously owned themselves) earned anywhere from $3-$12MM/team, depending on the program (UF and UGA were at the top, and it trailed off from there). So we're talking about an eight-figure increase to each team's annual revenue.

Add to that the ESPN and CBS contracts, and we're primed for yet another round of coaching salary inflation.

LSU/Wiscy is high up on my list. The more outdated and rare it gets, the more I like watching that kind of offense. I-formation, hand the ball off!

Even Bama has run a straight I like <1% the past few years, all TEs and H-backs

Derek Mason (Stanford DC) is the new Vanderbilt head coach. Very happy with the hire.

JFF loophole now big enough to drive a truck (full of memorabilia) through:

"Disassociated" Bama booster running store selling gear autographed by current Bama players

Quote:
By my count there are 11 currently eligible Alabama players selling game-worn gear on this site.

Eleven!

That list includes TJ Yeldon, Amari Cooper, Caleb Castille, Deion Belue, Christion Jones, Jeoffrey Pagan, Dee Hart, Kenyan Drake, Adrian Hubbard, Xzavier Dickson, and Kenny Bell.

All eleven of these players didn't just sign autographs, they signed either jerseys, cleats, wristbands, or gloves.

Some signed all four.

It's amazing how eleven of these Alabama players are kind enough to just give away their gear for free to a memorabilia store owner.

They're so nice!

I'm sure they had no idea it would be put up for sale.

And I'm sure they're getting nothing for it either.

Just the sweetest boys possible.

Love his conclusion

Quote:
Look, I don't begrudge any player getting paid for his autograph, but if you don't think it's hysterical that a mall-store owner in Tuscaloosa holds Nick Saban's entire legacy in the palm of his hand, you aren't a college football fan.

If Al-betar ever talked, Nick Saban's dynasty would be a smoldering pile of ruins.

Indeed, Al-betar may be the only guy in Tuscaloosa who doesn't give a damn what Nick Saban says. (That's probably why the players like him.) Because he's still hanging out with players and violating NCAA rules by having current players sign jerseys, cleats, wrist bands, and gloves that they know will then be sold.

God bless you, Tom, I'm actually becoming a fan of yours. Unlike the NCAA, at least you're paying the players for their work.

TAMU/South Carolina will be the first game shown on the SEC Network. Pretty shrewd of them to make it such a high profile in-conference game, which CBS has no ability to pick up this early in the season.
