I mean, wtf. Dude isn't some profiteer, he's at freaking summer league games acting a fool. Absurd.

The Clippers might have underestimated Darrell's popularity. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, the team's stars, even took to Twitter to voice their support for him.
The Clippers, for their part, have released a statement claiming no wrongdoing — legal, moral, or otherwise. It is full of phrases like "No good deed goes unpunished" and "He is not actually a fan of the Clippers, but a fan of what he can make off the Clippers."
as if Sterling has been able to fail his way into Blake and CP3. Where is the justice? If this was the WWF the crowd would be singing ass hole ass hole everytime he's in attendance.
They have been giving him free clippers tickets and now that the clips are winning he is like going out and doing local tv ads and stuff as Clipper Darrell and the Clippers don't like that? The situation is strange cause the Clips certainly weren't advertising before that Clipper Darrell was a sponsored fan - it all makes sense now. Before it was just a mystery to how someone could actually be a Clippers fan - free stuff, got it.
Also, in before Clipper Darrell's skeletons start jumping out of the closet.
isn't the fact that they allowed and even encouraged him to do this for years a problem if they're going to try to enforce trademark against him? i mean i guess they can stop giving him free seats, but they aren't going to give darrell bailey seats either

Great legal minds itt. Short answer, yes to the extent they've knowingly allowed him to use their marks, they will have a harder time telling him to stop. Though, if he's actually using them for profit now, easy enough to argue that they were fine with it until he started appropriating commercial opportunities for himself.
When Sterling would take women into the Clippers locker room after games and lead them into the players' occupied showers he would say, "Look at those beautiful black bodies." Now, does that comment sound racist, or more like appreciative?

This song seems appropriate here:
If I were close to CP3/Blake/DJordan I'd tell them to keep supporting Clipper Darrell, and get the fan base to chant his name, write e-mails/letters, tweet, phone the organization, etc.
Ok so, he's a theory that goes in addition to Sterling being an idiot
I actually worked in the Clippers inside sales office for about 9 months. I was there for season ticket renewals/the "Select-a-seat" event where people get to walk around STAPLES and choose season seats, and there were actually a LOT of people who said "I don't want to be in the section with the guy who yells (C.D.)
I'm sure the Clips are jacking up season ticket prices by at least 15% this year, and, its coming up on season renewal time
Seems like a small and pussy reason to get rid of CD, but if they think its costing them >$200k-300k in season tickets, maybe its part of the reason
edit: and/or in addition, maybe trying to attract the "Lakers Crowd" of see and be seen

Reason: changed the season ticket #, looked up the prices
