Would be pretty badass if it wasn't the quality of a cameraphone taking a video from a 19 inch television.

Love Jim Lampley's calls though.

LOL at the notes. OaklandStephen has no clue what's legal...

"the fisrt 500 fights on hbo. This is FREE PROMOTION for HBO Sports, and not piracy. HBO stands to lose no profit (nor do we gain any) from the posting of this video. If anything, such an online presence of HBO Sports will aid in the cultivation of countless new fans, and the satisfying of thousands more. Admire the first-rate production values, tight editing, and stirring music that only HBO can offer. Enjoy! "

I wish I could find some active torrents that have these fights for download.

I miss ESPN Classic so much.

At around ninety seconds each, these are among the most goose-bump inducing intros ever.
Speaking of major sporting event intros that induce something, there's this classic opening to game 5 of the 1980 World Series.

Secretariat winning the Belmont Stakes. The most dominating performance ever and still a world record.

Hagler vs Hearns . Arguably one of the best fights ever, definitely one of the best first rounds ever. Unreal fight. Worth watching all 9 minutes.

Looked about the same as the Ibramov v Klitschko fight from last night. Except totally different in every way possible.

Hearing a sports fan say he never saw the '73 Belmont Stakes is like hearing him say he's never seen Mays' catch, or Fisk's HR.
