First things first, here is the list of those participating in the draft:

quad has first dibs on replacing anyone who drops out/I replace due to laziness, and anyone is free to take him on as a co-owner if they wish.

Now then.

RULES/GUIDELINES:

• The draft will consist of 7 rounds following the format of ABBABAB. I like the idea of having an extra reserve Pokemon to use in certain situations. While this will force some lesser, unevolved Pokemon that won't be able to reach level 60 (see below) to be drafted, there should still be a few scenarios where adding an extra specialist Pokemon to certain battles will make it worth it.
• All 151 first generation Pokemon are draft eligible. I could go on about this, but just read the draft interest thread if you want to know why this is the case.
• All fully evolved Pokemon drafted will be set at level 60. Any unevolved Pokemon drafted will be set at the level right before they are able to evolve.
• For simplicity purposes, we will be following Red/Blue's levels/movesets (i.e. undrafted may learn an attack at level 65 in the newest Pokemon, but level 60 in Red/Blue, so you would get that attack in this draft).
• Each Pokemon is allowed to learn 1 TM/HM, but there can be no duplicates within a team.
• Judging criteria is not set in stone at the moment. At the very least, we can do a loose tournament where SE votes on who they believe would win. Best case scenario is we're able to figure out a way to sim the battles, which would be awesome.

Lastly, you are free to build your team of 7 however you choose. Whether you want to be a bug catcher, lass, fisherman, IT IS UP TO YOU. Obviously building a team around 7 water-types is not going to work, but if your style is to be a silly little girl like Misty, feel free to go for it. The goal is to become the Ultimate Pokemon Master.

if we're all embracing our inner nerds we might as well go all out

what i propose is when we're done we start a new thread when the draft is done and have an actual pokemon tournament. give everyone their HPs, their move sets, and set it up so that player 1 makes their move, judge rand's to see if it hits or misses and gets the amount of damage done, player 2 makes their move, and so on so forth til the match is over. then the next 2, then the next 2 until we're down to a champion

what's the fun in simulating?

i was actually trying to think of some viable way to do something like that.

dar0 made a pretty strong case for me banning Mewtwo at the last minute, but in the end i think it's more fun with M2 around.

he's certainly still super strong, but he is hurt in this format by not being able to learn any of his special attacks.

Oh man that would take forever, there has to be a simulator or something else. Im just hoping this finishes. I pmed the next team.

i mean, sure, it'll probably take forever, but every draft a winner is determined by popular opinion or likely inaccurate statistical simulations. as geeky as it'd be it'd be legit ****ing awesome

also, while the above doesn't really qualify cause we've been talking bout those two all day, everyone try not to mention undrafteds.
