Nice thread tsc, congrats on 40k.
Wow people have covered things pretty well so far but I might as well go for it:
NFL
Brett Favre: I am a 49er fan and Brett has ruined my hopes and dreams many times. Additionally he is probably the most overrated athlete ever.
313 Interceptions in 281 games. Find me another qb who is considered to be super elite and threw more than 1
.1 (added for Dan Marino) int/game. gfy anyone saying he's the best QB ever.
NBA
Kinda had to put some thought into this one. I picked Ginobili because I think he is awful for the sport. The picture above represents his game pretty well. Drive into lane, jump sideways, brush someones jersey, flip around through the air, throw arms out as if you have been shot.
Honorable mentions:
-Robert Horry
-The entire Utah Jazz franchise. Seriously I hate the Jazz so much. I'm sure this viewpoint will be a bit controversial, but is there a more blatantly racist sports franchise in the US? They seem to stack their lineup with white players every year and get rid of the black ones. I would love to see Utah's percentage of white players versus every other team's percentage of white players over the year. Also, fu for knocking the Warriors out of the playoffs.
MLB
Easiest one. I have hated Roger Clemens since I was 7 years old. My dad and I went to see the Red Sox play the A's at the Oakland Coliseum on my birthday. We're looking down over the railing and he is done warming up. My dad yells "hey Roger, it's my sons birthday!", Roger looks right at me, looks 20 feet over at the hot blond, tosses her the ball. Go **** yourself Roger Clemens. The fact that he will probably never be in the Hall of Fame makes me really happy.
Soccer:
Apparently we all agree. John Terry is a ****. Every ****ing English football pundit has a Ron Jeremy sized hardon for "the British Bulldog" John Terry. The most brave, hardened, gladiator on the planet. My favorite memory is him walking down the field in Moscow, adjusting his captain's armband as if to say "Yes I am the captain and I am going to win the Champions League for Chelsea." While I am on my knees praying to the heavens, John Terry manages to ****ing fall down while taking the penalty, we go on to make two more, Anelka misses and an hour later I am too drunk to walk. I guess I shouldn't hate John Terry for gifting United a CL title, but at the same time he is a huge **** so I am fine with hating him.
