I'm sorry, does not compute. Illegal contact was a penalty which was actually enforced long before 2004. Phil Simms played a hundred years and did the live broadcast and had never heard of the tuck rule. Which of those two games actually caused the league to "change the rules"? Or is it possible the refs just ****ed up the Indy game?
And Buckner...OMG MOST HORRIFIC PLAY EVER IN SPORTS....

This ********** owns the league record for contract disputes and games missed due to contract hold outs. This douchebag sat out a whole season demanding his contract be renegotiated - A contract had also been renegotiated due to a hold out. The scumbag once promised $1 Million to a local arts organization but then rescinded the donation when they refused to give half of it back to his parents in the form of a kickback.
Perhaps most importantly, he was absolutely brutal in the playoffs, scoring a single point (an assist) in his final two playoff seasons in Ottawa before being shipped off to the New York Islanders in one of the worst trades in NHL history (thank you Mike Milbury!)

As for soccer players, nice to see the well deserved hate for players like Drogba, Ballack and Materazzi. I find the current Chelsea lineup closing in on the old Arsenal lineup (Keown, Adams, Seaman, Ian Wright etc) as the most hateworthy lineup ever.

The only reason you take the crown for most hated driver is because you're bringing the ruckus to that disgustingly hot piece from the Pussycat Dolls and that makes me jealous, very jealous. If I was in a room with Joey Barton, Roy Keane and you and I only had 2 bullets I'd shoot you twice.

Seeing how someone got in with the Gerrard hate before I could, yesterday's match reminds me of a favourite of mine

I cannot think of a more overrated whining hypocritical manager in the history of the game. Somehow managing not to get sacked twenty years ago due to luckboxing the FA Cup, he is then conveniently the recipient of probably one of the best spells from a youth system ever at exactly the same time as the money rolls in to the Premier League. These fortunate circumstances, rather than any sort of brilliant managerial skill, allowed United to win something worth winning for the first time in 25 years and it's then just a case of the rich getting richer, to the point where they've won two Champions League titles thanks to Bayern not realising that, when losing, you play until United score, and John Terry's inability to walk five yards without falling over.
Taggart's brilliance in the transfer market is unparalleled. For every £1.2 million pound Cantona, there's a dozen Dion Dublin's at the same price. Who can ever forget endless attempts to replace an aging lineup of Scholes and Keane with the likes of Djemba-Djemba, Kleberson, Poborsky, Veron (a bargain at 28 million I'm sure you'll agree), and, when these failed, just filling in random players from anywhere on the pitch (Rio Ferdinand and Alan Smith at the same time anyone? Ryan Giggs? Rooney?). In one of the most disgusting moves of all time, the strength in depth of the squad wasn't enough to compete in the FA Cup and some exhibition overseas at the same time, yet they seem able to play the reserves in the League Cup at will, and basically started the trend of more or less every club not to play any first team players in it at all.
That said, the main reason for hate, other than that ******ed dual fist shaking goal celebration, is Taggart's continual moaning nature. He has refused to speak to the BBC at all for years after they pointed out dodgy transfer dealings of his son Darren. He will, while currently under investigation over comments made towards referee Alan Wiley that he was unfit to referee a game that they didn't win, complained that Martin Atkinson's decisions leading towards yesterday's winner by Chelsea were incorrect, whilst completely forgetting the ridiculous amount of stoppage time given by the very same referee in which Owen got a late winner against Man City a few weeks earlier. His continual clock watching nature and attempts to influence officials have seen many occasions where United have scored dubious late goals, received dodgy penalties which opposing teams would never get, and he oversees players who'll swarm referees and complain about every single decision given against them. I cannot recall a single occasion following a defeat where Taggart has said they've been outplayed by a better side.
Also have your team wear poppies on ****ing Rememberance Sunday.
