You should probably start watching something different than what you're currently watching if you believe this.

It's easy to say he should have "worked with them more" because the idea that if he had just been nicer, the GOP would have come to the party is an unfalsifiable counterfactual. Talk in specifics.
Immigration reform is one example, couldn't get it done with Congress (even with Gang of 8 in the Senate), Obama goes executive order route, and Supreme Court tossed it.

Environment another issue. He couldn't get legislation done (even before Republicans took over in '10), went the executive order route, Supreme Court tossed it.

As someone who supported Sanders but couldn't come to terms with supporting Hilary--Biden and Barry did a good job of exposing Trump as a malicious fraud of the highest order. Don't know if I can vote Hilary but they did as good as one could hope for.

I don't think Obama will go down as a GOAT president. I mean, for the most part he's a good and honest compassionate guy which will put him ahead of most politicians automatically, but he didn't really get a whole lot done.

The Congress excuse is fine but you can't really judge him on what he could have gotten done. Obamacare will be his legacy and with any luck it won't even exist in the near future as it gets replaced with a single payer system.

this may be true, but I'm also not gullible enough to fall prey to an alt-right, bigotry-fueled cult. How about yourself?

Maybe I'm an idiot because I thought the Trump thing was hilarious for a while, but I'm starting to feel genuinely terrified.

Have a hard time understanding this "cut your nose to spite your face" mentality. Maybe if you live in a 99% blue state it makes sense to abstain from voting, though.

I'm pretty surprised that people didn't see this coming. Not that Trump will win, but that he'd be in a position where winning is within reach. Anyone who viewed this as an amusing sideshow that had no genuine chance of producing material consequences should punch themselves for their myopia.

I think we all pine for the days of strapping young bucks, Willie Horton, and McCain's black baby when the GOP definitely wasn't a bigotry-fueled cult.

Or the Clinton's run against Obama in 2008.

The difference is that it is coming out of the mouth of the candidate and publicly egged on by the candidate, not the craven strategy of an underling.

This is the first time since George Wallace that a candidate has been so open about disliking non-whites, and in fact if you read a Wallace speech, it is eerily similar to Trump. Same isolationist, protectionist, anti-immigrant themes, same re-claiming of America -- except Wallace had a much better command of the world and the english language. Trump is a dumbed-down Wallace, essentially. Wallace's voting base was the same as the cult Sando joined: uneducated, poor, white, and mad at minorities. Wallace was equally delusional, gave a very late speech in Madison Square Garden having been convinced he could win the state.

This is what gets me, and I can't figure out whether Bern or bust crowds are suffering from massive entitlement, massive ignorance or some combination of the two. They seem to really be underestimating the damage Drumpf can do in just 4 years

Think there's a nonzero chance Trump has a legit meltdown of some sort whether it be storming off stage or dropping a bitch or ****.

The sad thing is I'm not sure if it would hurt him with his loyal base at all.

It is terrifying indeed.

I guess I'll revisit a post from a couple weeks ago, because I think I cracked the case:

Sando, what does Putin pay you to try to SWAY THE MINDS of the 2+2 illiterati?

It's the only explanation.

Wouldn't hurt him at all, because he'd just be saying what they all feel. Especially the bolded, probably draw in some Bernie supporters if he does that.

i can't remember what primary it was, but when she unofficially officially beat Sanders, she gave a damn good speech. i dont think she'll win over many people with tonight's speech but i doubt she hurts herself.
