Not sure if you are aware the US does not have a Parliament.

I thought we were all just enjoying the show in SE, a little disappointed we have actual, unironic Trump fans

Populism is further removed from libertarianism than mainstream GOP or Dem, ainec.

It's somewhat expected from Sando and Wooderson, but I thought LL had a little more sense than that.

You're going to need some populism eventually in a world that's being destroyed and where the best computer algorithms will have all the wealth

Your vote has zero effect, no matter what state you live in.

So, why you think you have to vote red or blue just so you vote for someone with a chance is beyond me.

The more third party votes increase, the more likely we see things change, maybe even on a systemic level one day. Sure, one vote on top of the pile doesn't move the needle any more than one vote can move the red/blue lever, but the same vaccination-style analogy that is the last resort of people who believe their vote has more utility than buying a cheeseburger, that way of thinking works even better to say vote 3rd party.

I just find it stunning that people are SO NEGATIVE on her. like the most likely outcome for a Hillary term is 4 more of years of something reasonably close to the last 4 years - this is what you would like to avoid over anything in the world? the prospect of that keeps you up at night?

some outcomes for a Trump presidency, though, are legit crazy

I want to see some real changes in the way the US government works. Hillary embodies all of the things that make the US government terrible.

Probably because you can afford to ride out some truly terrible outcomes for millions of others. All your posts are heavy on generic platitudes.

Maybe it's a legacy of how well Obama campaigned, that people think we actually have "cleaner" options than people like Hillary.

Hope and change was a helluva drug.

I also would like to see change. But I want to see change for the better, not change for the sake of change that puts us in a worse spot than we are now.

so of these 2 candidates, it's Hillary that embodies things you don't like. got it.

I mean, yeah, I'd like to see changes in the gov't as well. I don't like politicians either and I don't particularly like Hillary. that doesn't mean I'd vote for LITERALLY ANYONE over a politician b/c the outcomes for a buffoon running the country are far worse than another politician like the last 5 presidents

Some real changes such as getting rid of the Department of Education?

Why do you think that wouldn't be disastrous for poor school districts? How can a reasonable person look at the actual data and be convinced the fed is what's dragging the states down in education?

I understand an idealist, but not a pragmatist.

Why am I wrong for thinking the fed isn't picking up the states' slack?

Hey man, if the US government isn't perfect, we'd better just blow up the whole thing. For the lolz.

One thing I really don't understand is the bashing on Trump for things like Trump Steaks, Trump Water, Trump Magazine, etc.

Of course it is a shameless attempt to expand his brand through basically any means necessary, but that is his shtick. He has turned Trump into a brand, and he has tried to take advantage of the power of his brand through a diverse set of business opportunities. Anyone trying to sell "Lastname Water" is going to be running a high chance of failure. Most of those things are not going to work out.

The media has been against him from Day 1. The neo-cons are coming out vehemently against him. The establishment is against him.

Maybe the dude would actually end a lot of government pork and corruption.

Theres zero chance Hillary does it.

It's like the entire political apparatus that has governed the country for centuries will just disappear when Trump gets elected and sheer force of personality and conviction will be enough to enact policy across America. Except this is the exact train of thought that got a bunch of tea party dingbats elected who think it's a great idea to shut down the government and have show votes to repeal Obamacare and defund Planned Parenthood every few days just to show how SERIOUS they are about STANDING UP TO WASHINGTON and GETTING THINGS DONE.

Is that our answer for #1 biggest problem in America, that Congresscritters earmark legislation to get some construction projects and military bases in their home districts?

Bill was a pretty good president except for the crony capitalism and setting the housing crisis in motion with deregulation. He didn't start any stupid $2T wars. I'd settle for that a second time around, especially faced with the prospect of a stupid $2T wall with Trump's name on it.

Imagine the lulz though. Awesome.
