-Amazon (now) collects and remits sales taxes in all states that have sales taxes, whether or not it has a physical presence there
-Amazon and WaPo are completely different entities
-"Internet tax" is a Thing Which Does Not Exist (for Amazon or anyone else)

Heller is only voting yes on this if he decides he doesn't want to be a Senator in 2019. That's certainly possible if he gets promised some kind of payoff. I wouldn't think a threat to primary him would be effective. He's also just one guy and the GOP can afford to lose two votes so it may end up meaning nothing when he votes no and it passes anyways.

I occasionally buy something on Amazon where sales tax isn't collected. I'm not sure how much sales tax is going uncollected overall when people buy and get their purchases shipped from a third party seller but it's a sore issue for the states missing out and the brick and mortar businesses struggling to compete against it.

Not politics per se but Australia's Cardinal George Pell, the third highest man in the Catholic Church, has been charged with historical sex offences from multiple complainants. In the past when he said he found out about priests under him abusing children he stated it was 'a sad story and it wasn’t of much interest to me'. He has also said abortion is a worse moral scandal than priests abusing children.
