This. Blame everyone for making that thread stupid enough for me to go "wait a minute, why the hell is this thread in SE anyways?"

That thread was fine, the NVG and TV threads were retarded beyond belief, especially by people who regged solely to beg for links.
A three day thread once per year on the WSOP ME final table is hardly an imposition on the forum and is certainly not worth getting indignant over.
Besides, the only person tarding it up was FlyingRat, and as far as I could tell he was doing it on purpose.

I find this an interesting precedent you are willing to set. Whatever, I can ignore threads fwiw, which may sound ironic based on my last post. I didn't open that thread once.

I find it fascinating that people actually expend energy discussing the merits of its existence, as if it's an affront to humanity.

seems like most people here have the same stance as OOT, ie, keep poker the **** out of this forum.
Like I said though, it isn't hard ignoring threads, especially when its JUST one.

re: SE FAQ, Liveblog, Foodblog, and Forum Discussion
OOT is an off-topic forum on a poker/gambling site, and they have a no-poker rule. you can argue the merits of poker as a sport, but here on 2p2, and considering that it gets broadcast on ESPN (and pretty much every other sports channel), i think it's acceptable that it, for a couple days per year when interest is at its highest, it falls under the umbrella of SE. but yeah, if you have that big a problem, then just don't click like TSC. or bitch about it anyway, whatever...

re: SE FAQ, Liveblog, Foodblog, and Forum Discussion
I was almost going to make a point that this gives people the right to start OP's on basically any sport/ sporting event, but then I realized they should be able to. This place shouldn't just be about the top sports. People should make threads about any sports/sporting event and talk about it. The forum dictates what will be popular via posts, but that shouldn't mean less popular things can't be talked about.

re: SE FAQ, Liveblog, Foodblog, and Forum Discussion
Can we lock the "who are the bad SE posters" thread? I don't see what purpose it serves other than to create dumb forum drama. Most of the recent posts in it have been people posting names of people that just recently pissed them off, or are people that we already know are awful. I personally think whatever we can do to move beyond the dumb forum drama is a good thing, but I suspect others will disagree with me.
