Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

If Cotto looked really bad against Mayweather he would probably be Canelo's opponent I guess. On the other hand he didn't quite do well enough to earn a rematch with Floyd, so I guess with his performance he is stuck in the middle.

Two interesting middleweight fights announced recently: Golovkin vs Pirog and Sturm vs Geale. It shouldn't really be possible that two unification fights can be announced all the while a guy with another belt (Chavez) is fighting someone else (Lee) for the right to face the true champion (Martinez).

I don't think Cotto has a shot against Floyd in a rematch, but do you really feel like he didn't do enough to justify it? Seems like given the fact Cotto actually won 3-6 rounds (depending on whom you ask) and given the lack of real competition for Floyd since Pac isn't happening and Canelo isn't ready yet, Cotto might be the best bet imo.

Cotto did great. He won 3 rounds perhaps even 4. More than anyone would have thought.

Pirog vs. Golovkin is a great fkn fight. Fight of the year written all over it.

Oh for ****'s holiest of sakes:

Manny and Floyd were much nearer to fighting in 2010 than any of us realized...

Judah won more rounds against Floyd than I thought he would too, I didn't want to see that rematch and I'm not particularly interested in watching this one. But you guys are right, it's probably the best option for Floyd from a financial point of view.

Rematch is completely out of the question. Didn't know that was even considered. That's not what i commented on at least.

I'm kinda intrigued by this Kayode-Tarver fight. Why, I have no idea.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Shane Mosley finally gets one over on Winky Wright. Wright, after suffering a humiliating defeat on Saturday in his comback attempt, retired today. A few hours later, Mosley hung up the gloves as well. Of course, Wright defeated Mosley twice for the 154lb title.

His gloves should have been hung up half way through the Canelo fight, but he's still one of my favs.

I honestly was on the edge of my seat though during the final round just praying he wouldn't get knocked out in his (in my opinion) obviously final fight.

I have a very strong feeling Bradley is going to beat Pacquaio.

A lot of boxing writers seem to be picking Bradley. I think Pacquiao's gonna destroy him.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I agree I think Bradley is a good counterpuncher but as Marquez showed its really freaking hard to outpoint Manny counterpunching...but I do think it will be interesting to watch him fight someone shorter than him for once. Just hard to see Manny losing close rounds when the entire boxing world knows preserving the chance of the mayweather pacquiao fight is huge for the sport. On the other hand Bradley winning is a lot better outcome than any other fighter beating Manny in the last few years he still has that zero in the loss column. Who knows Bradley might really show something tonight and beast

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I got Pac winning in 6. Bradley's punches are too wide and leaves himself open. On exchanges, Pac is faster and much more powerful than Bradley. I don't see Bradley lasting the full 12 rounds.
