Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

It appears that Manny has chosen Cotto as his back up plan if the Mayweather fight can't be done, as confirmed by his wife.

Meh... I won't even buy that fight. I saw it already, and it will end in the same result. I really really hope Floyd & Pac work something out.

meh, I've spent so many hours of the day just thinking about Pac-Mayweather that I'm kind of burned out by it, I'm still really interested in that fight but it's not at the forefront of my mind like it used to be.

Arum has been killing boxing and he needs to die so the sport can potentially recover.

Arum does not want Pac to fight Floyd next as both a restriction on Pac and also cos he knows Floyd makes more money than he (Arum) does.

I've been around the sport for 11 or so years, and never have I seen someone hated and propagandised against as much as Floyd. People don't like him so they use their dislike to rail against him without much evidence.

Floyd has always said he'd fight Pacman, so long as Pacman took the tests. There was never anything ambiguous about his position. However, people used that to try and second guess his motives about him being scared etc. Floyd being Floyd wanted to fight Pacquiao and have all the terms in hais favour to demoralise Pacquiao...

If they fight each other now, after Pac's "win" vs JMM and everything else that's been going on, Pac will definitely start as the underdog. I can't wait to be in Las Vegas to see his ass handed to him. Not so much because of him (who I like) but because his know-little army of idiot boxing "fans" (who only watch the sport when he fights) will be made to STFU and scrabble around like mugs for excuses, when there simply aren't any.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Yeah, I'm not touching this thread for the night. I foresee about 20 wall of text posts incoming that would make me miserable.

You guys have 24 hours to spin all of this in the most retarded of ways without me interfering! Truth shall not prevail for now. (you could start with Floyd ducking Tszyu, then i would move towards Floyd draining Oscar and maybe finish it up with being a hand numbing cheater and probably a crack dealer. Please remember also that Floyd is NOT the commission)

God bless you all.

I would avoid Boxingscene, that site is riddled with popups, trojans, and potential malware viruses.

ESB is pretty good, the most trafficked boxing site and lots of folks commenting and dishing news. But there's indeed a lot of Mayweather nut huggers there.

Really? Didn't know that about boxingscene. I use ad block + popupblock addons tho.
ESB looks good, but i can't get used to the interface compared to BS. Probably why i haven't switched over.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

ESPN posted the latest developments last night at 10:35 pm EST. Bob Arum left the Phillippines Saturday after a final meeting with Manny Pacquiao and advisor Michael Koncz.

Cliffs Notes: "No comment," said Koncz.

Meh.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I mean, if I'm even close to right in assuming Manny's heart isn't 100% in boxing any more, the only fight of the 3 probables that make sense is Cotto. Get another paycheck, don't break a sweat, and move on to politics.

So sad if true. Can't fault a guy for wanting to do something else, but damn boxing needed this.

You could be talking about either of them and the bolded part would still make sense. Also it doesn't really have any significance to any regulars in this thread - no one has said that Pacquiao would beat Floyd easily, most probably think that Floyd wins (I do).

My AVG kept giving warnings and I'd have to run scans to wipe out the trojans at BScene. Another reader at ESB reported the same problem and so did a blogger who actually warned readers about it when he ran a link to BScene once.

ESB is easy because you don't have to sign up, you just type in an anti spam code and your user name stays the same each time.

Just my experience there, not trying to dog BScene which actually has some good coverage. Just not worth the risk IMO.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

ESB sucks, as does Boxingscene. Boxing forums are largely akin to NVG nowadays. I find the Boxrec forums to be the best of a bad bunch.

To be honest though, the debate in here is probably better. Except most people in here know nothing about boxing. It's like a boxing forum discussing poker...
