And could be fighting in a charity boxing fight one of Australia's former rugby league stars in Paul Gallen, or Sonny Bill Williams or another former Australian Rules player in Barry Hall.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.new...0b5c148e936357

Here are some highlights of these men fighting before with Gallen and Hall previously having fought together.

i have often had the same urge to watch old fights before my time without knowing who won...i have not had great success with having the GF find the full fights on her own on youtube and bringing em up while i'm out of the room lol but that would be my first recommendation if she is competent.

the other option i can think of requires being even more of a weirdo and trying to get one of your bros to teamviewer you or something lol. i would be lying if i said i hadn't on at least one drunken occasion tried an utterly stupid technique of like typing out the fight on youtube "full fight" and then just kind of squinting out of one eye like a complete ****in idiot trying to find a video without getting spoiled-do not think it has a high success rate. the espn archives are unfortunately relatively worthless for this purpose since they are 99% just fights of legends that you know they won. how i even got into the sport in the first place was being home on a winter break and-knowing nothing about boxing-watching the HBOGO catalog of fights back when it was actually full of great fights.

i would be down for a little boxing thread nostalgia postings of spoiler-less youtube great fights. Can prob help you out finding some of the FOTYs on youtube and embedding them. briefly looking at the list i think i have seen all of them other than calderon-segura and 2 Thai guys i won't even try to spell

a few if people haven't seen. maybe post any comments about the fights in spoilers

ofc you probably wanted the dvds bc youtube quality is often **** and boxing is just not as fun to stream in crappy quality. do quick full screen as soon as you can to avoid sidebar spoilers or comments

Gypsy King - AJ confirmed for next year. Get in!

All the smart money going on Tyson of course

Makes it even more frustrating that Wilder has exercised his rematch clause. No-one cares about you any more mate, you've been schooled twice now. Give it up.

Haha ya I've tried the GF and the squinting, among other things, at different times

Ya, unfortunately boxing just isn't the same when the picture is bad. Thanks for the links, will give them a go at some stage

Tim Tszyu could be the best thing for Australian boxing since his father.

Man, Jeff Horn always just looks so flabby and weight drained. No big muscle on him. He's a big guy, but looks underprepared for a top flight boxer. Based on interviews, I feel like he made a bunch vs Manny and has just tried to cash out since and has given a subpar effort. Not to say he could beat most of these guys, but it seems like he mails it in to an extent, like Adrian Broner perhaps, minus the felonies.

Some good fights tonight, about time we got some reasonable matchups. Postol Ramirez is a nice matchup. Postol is almost 37, so he's over the hill, but he's giving Ramirez all he can handle scoring wise.

Lara fought a tuneup, you can tell Lara, in his late thirties, isn't in his prime at all anymore. He could probably give Hurd a run for his money in a rematch, but against top 2-3 fighters in the division, I have to believe Lara is likely getting battered.

I didn't watch the Ugas Ramos fight, but it sounds like a qualifier for "worst scorecards ever in an eliminator/title fight"

Scores were 115-113 Ugas x2 and 117-111 Ramos. So Ugas did win by SD.

Fox and BadLeftHook scored it 120-108 clean sweep. Boxingscene had it 119-109 Ugas.

Canelo suing GB and DAZN - https://theathletic.com/news/boxing-...n/jkMUfnFMTuBP

I really feel bad for nobody here. Canelo has been gifted a shitload of scorecards, he's popped PEDs and played innocent, he's claiming P4P and plenty of fans back that up, yet he lost against post-prime GGG clearly twice. His best win is prime Jacobs, 2nd best win is.... over the hill Kovalev/Cotto? Controversial Lara? Hard to say. Fought an incredibly stupid fight vs Floyd, trying to win a hand speed game. Just very unlikable, but I'll admit he's fun to watch. He has a great chin and hands. He's not a great fighter though. He's a good fighter and a great boxing celebrity. Not that different from Cotto. Neither should be HOF, but both will be locks.

GB is a joke, for everything bad I said about Canelo above, DLH is an even bigger joke.

DAZN is clearly another "throw stupid money around, hope it sticks" gamble. Don't care for their gameplan nor their executive. They've done nothing to further the sport.

This lawsuit sort of epitomizes boxing. If only Arum found a way to be involved in it, you'd basically have the entire two-faced sport covered.

In other news, Loma Lopez was signed, that's a great fight. Briedis Dorticos is a nice fight too happening later this month.

Solid PPV card tomorrow night featuring the Charlo twins and a total of 5 world title fights (though don't know if it's worth the $79.95 price tag). Here's my analysis and betting prediction for the Charlo vs. Derevyanchenko fight: https://masterclassboxing.blogspot.c...-prefight.html

I don't think anything is really worth $80, but it's about time we got a solid card. Should be a good fight. On your blog, keeping the font/sizing the same from the first to second section would be better I think (just a small thing).

Thanks for pointing that out! Wasn't sure what you were talking about at first but it was clearer once I looked at it on my desktop. Wrote the two sections on different days but they were written in the same font and size (which I confirmed by checking just now) so still not sure how that even happened when it got posted. Wasn't intended but you're right the sizing was different so i've updated that. But at least I got the pick right LOL. Thanks again...

Yea definitely a good call on the pick there crystal.

Man Zepeda Baranchyk was a super exciting fight, easily a FOTY contender. They rarely fight this way these days at higher levels. Reminded me of Provodnikov Bradley.

Rough ending for sure.

Thoughts on Lopez/Loma?

Is Lopez live? Significantly younger, natural LW, more power or will Loma just outclass him w/ massive difference in ability and skill?

I'm looking forward to it, but I don't see anybody bettering Loma in these weights. He makes world class fighters look mediocre, and this is likely to happen again imo.

Wrote up some thoughts about the fight on Twitter - didn't have time yesterday or today to update my blog. Basically, I like Loma's skills and abilities to get him to a comfortable decision vs. Lopez - feel like that's the most likely outcome and the bet that's best to take given that they're still offering at close to even-money odds (I got Loma by decision a few days ago at +110 - might be around -110 now). Feel like Lopez will not effectively impose his advantages in size and power on Loma given his fighting style, which is different than others who've given Loma some problems at the weight - and certainly different from Salido, who used weight to hand Loma the only loss of his pro career a few years ago. Loma by decision is my main bet, but I do think it's wise to hedge the bet with Lopez by KO given his size advantage and one-punch KO power in both hands. So also a much smaller bet on Lopez by KO to cover the Loma by decision bet in case Lopez knocks him out. Also - typically not a fan of this kind of round betting - but Lopez to stop Loma in rounds 5-8 (currently at +1505) stood out to me as having some value so I placed a very tiny bet on that just for fun. But Loma by decision definitely my main pick...

Ask and you shall receive - this is a good list (with no results included) through 2016. (Some of the links may no longer work, but the list is good enough.) In particular, really recommend checking out the Chacon vs. Lamon IV fight from 1982... that one is every bit on the level of a Castillo/Corrales or Gatti/Ward in my mind...

I think Loma wins a clear decision too. I think it's more like a puncher's chance type fight honestly. Loma is P4P top 3 clearly in my eyes, maybe the very best. He's getting older and fighting a couple classes higher than most stars fight at (vs weight on fight night), but he's just that good.

Lopez is v good though, but not special, not enough to make the size advantage too relevant imo.

This co-main is pretty good. If you're not going to put names on your card, putting fights like Saucedo - Barboza together is a great idea.
