Gvosdyk's name may be like a random mash of the keyboard, but he was also very impressive tonight. I'd love to see him against anyone at LHW.

I don't rate Sosa that much but regardless I think Loma is my eye test number one. That being said we have to see him v Mikey Garcia . Amazing fight if they do that

Watched loma fight on replay. jfc. It's like the matrix.

In other news... looks like my boy Jeff Horn has got his wish. Pacman is coming to Brisbane. On one hand it's pretty cool I'll get to see Pacman live. On the other hand I feel very "lol boxing" about it all.

You could argue that he's more deserving than Khan or Vargas or Bradley or Rios (who was coming off a loss and was like a poor man's Margaritto which Manny had destroyed), so really it's just more of the same.

It's kind of funny that I didn't mention Algeri in the above paragraph, despite having a hopeless style to face Manny (a non tricky, light punching boxer), he had just beaten Provodnikov and was undefeated, so I think he deserved the fight more than the above guys.

I'm not educated enough to offer a well informed opinion of his credentials for the fight (intuitively I would think Khan is more "deserving", but that obviously means nothing), but I was already "lol boxing" about it purely because of the "on again, off again" shenanigans. It was on, then it was going to be in Dubai, then it was going to be Khan, many tweeted that it would be Khan, then it all went quiet and now we're back to the original plan. lol boxing.

If Vasyl wasn't your #1 p4p fighter before Sosa, he has to be now.

Only reason Sosa stayed upright is because of his strong will and granite chin.

Meh, loma doesn't really strike me as having much ko power. More like death by a thousand cuts and\or frustrates you til you quit. Boxing is no fun when you're the only one getting hit.

I don't think he has great KO power either but I think he is number one now. And I was honestly kind of a hater a couple years ago considering his loss to Salido- as ****ty and dirty as it was - but after his last few fights I have come around . I think he wrecks anyone within ten pounds except for Mikey Garcia who has a real chance imo. I want to see that so bad. I never thought Sosa had a chance but Loma lost hardly any of Russell Sosa Walters and that is more impressive to me in the eye test than anyone else. If GGG Would have flattened Jacobs at some point I prob would have him but he didn't and much as I love him he won a legitimately controversial fight

Last edited by mutigers; 04-12-2017 at 11:46 PM. Reason: Flatten meaning KO not knockdown

Anyone know much about Julius Indongo who's fighting Ricky Burns tomorrow night? He's a 2/1 dog and Boxrec tells me he's only fought outside Namibia once although that was in Russia for the IBF belt which he won by 1st round KO over Troyanovsky.

Any reasonable fighter at 2/1 against Burns appeals although feel a big degen just backing a fighter I've never seen.

don't know much about him but there is a 99% chance he has to knock him out or win like 10 legitimate rounds to get a goddamn decision v burns

Yes very true and for all of Burns' limitations he does have a decent chin.

I doubt anybody here is well versed on the namibian boxing scene . I dont really think you can have a betting edge here unless you have actually seen the other Indongo fights. Plus the KO against the Troyanovsky was not a domination or anything it was just a punch that caught him cold. Really hard to handicap the fight correctly with the info the average non african boxing fan has imo.

With that being said if you put a gun to my head and made me bet I would bet Indongo.

EDIT: The expert move is to search south african boxing forums and see what the posters there think imo

For real. Burns must have some sort of incriminating evidence against every boxing judge in the world or some **** like that.

Turned out Indongo at 2/1 was an absolute gift, Burns barely won a round.

Burns is so limited its scary. No idea how Indongo can make that weight at his size. He is so gangly so will be awkward for anyone. Doubt Broner takes a fight like that.

Have a look at Burns' record. He really hasn't fought anyone with any pedigree for the best part of five years until last night.

I watched this on Sky last night, it was a bit dull admittedly but doesn't really matter, fight sells itself.

Suppose we've been spoilt by Fury running in as Batman and calling everyone a ****house.
