bellew must go to the same psychiatrist that amir khan and kell brook go to... "yes buddy, move up in weight and face a savage that is gonna knoc u the fek out, but forget about all that. think positive thoughts! u can do it!"

great appetizer this fight will be, before the real fight of the night: thurman-garcia.

Yeah, I mean this is probably a legit contender for worst fight of 2017 and there are already a couple of dozen posts here about it.

Hearn doing his job tbh.

Hearn's press conferences all basically go the same way.

1. Fighters answer some questions normally
2. Throw some subtle barbs that progressively become less subtle
3. Other person gets pissed and fires off even more insults
4. During face-off, one fighter throws at least one slap or punch, leading to a "brawl" that will be quickly broken up by nearby people who have rehearsed their moves

Guarantee you if nobody was there to break them up, they'd stand there going "Hey, where are the guys who are supposed to break us up?"

To be fair, Chisora did spit water as opposed to punching.

Im really not that convinced Haye staged any of that.

He was absolutely seething in the iFL interview afterwards ...

Just got around to watching Joe Rogan interview with Shannon Briggs.

There's a lot of almost incoherent ranting, but what do you expect?

Josh Warrington left Matchroom today which I imagine is quite the kick in the bollocks for Hearn as it suggests he's been outbid by Warren/BT.

Funny post.

On a side note, I think Brook's move up was smart. He got paid a ton of money, he can likely parlay into a fight vs anyone at 154-159lbs (Canelo, Charlos, etc.) and he avoided a smaller payday vs the real potential for a loss that would've actually hurt his career (Spence).

He was also dropping massive weight to make 147. Maybe he goes back there for the physical advantages and a big payday, but I think it's more likely we see him around 154 next getting paid handsomely.

It's ironic, he was fighting bums for so friggin long. He's essentially close to executing the Haymon strategy of management perfectly, without Haymon's help.

Saw the fight a while ago but been banned. Anyways.

R1 k

R6 k
R7 w
R8 w
R9 w
R10 w
R11 w
R12 k

Ward wins 7-6.

I don't know if we even need to see a rematch. I think K is always gonna lose the 2nd half of the fight due to conditioning and ward will just be smarter in the beginning when K still has energy and is dangerous. I doubt a rematch is as close on the scorecards.

I would very gladly bet wArd to win by decision in a rematch with reasonable odds.

I don't think Kovalev really looked any more tired than Ward in the second half. Both were tired from all the grappling. It was smart on Ward's part, tie him up and slow the fight down. He still needed the judges to break in his favor on most of the rounds that could've even potentially went to him though.

Odds will probably be even or slightly favor Ward again. Will be going on Kovalev personally. I don't see how Ward could've done any better really on his part. Kovalev can do better, more jabs in later rounds and spread the power out a little and he could've easily ended up at 117-110 or so. A real piece of the odds (to me) was uncertainty in Kovalev's preparation after what was obviously not him at top form in the Chilemba fight. That's gone now.

Kovalev by a clearer decision. He's too motivated to slack, he'll come in at least as prepared as last fight.

Good round 1. Gassiev probably takes it for that hard right, but Lebedev got some nice boxing in. Gassiev needs to use jab more, Lebedev can't get close with those looping left hooks or it'll be trouble.

Lebedev rd 2. Gassiev walking in but not throwing much.

Good activity early rd 3 for Lebedev but Gassiev takes the round, more activity in the middle-end of the rd and it's obvious that when he lands it bothers Lebedev.

This is turning into a fun cat and mouse game. I have Gassiev 3-1 now.

If this pace continues, I think someone hits the canvas, probably Lebedev, but he could definitely hurt Gassiev too. Neither guy is particularly accurate given how close they are to each other.

Wicked body shot. Gassiev has a nasty left hook, he just kept spamming it to the body there, awesome. He's pretty scary walking him down all round.

Nice round 6. Lebedev came out firing. He landed more clean shots, more power shots throughout. Tough to give a round to him when he seems to be rocked almost every time Gassiev lands clean, and Gassiev takes his shots so well, but I think Lebedev took this one.

4-2 with a knockdown.

Gassiev is going to end this soon I think. Lebedev can't take this for 12 full rounds.

Lebedev with nice combos that round. Gassiev needs to stop standing in front of him and not throwing. At least jab, it's effecting Lebedev so much. 4-3 (-1).

Lebedev still has a shot here if Gassiev tires or walks into something huge.
