I'll still watch his fight Sat or Sun when there's time, but it'll be nothing more exciting to me than when Kovalev is set to face a Chilemba or GGG is fighting a Monroe.
Sorry, my post must've been unclear, I'll rephrase:

Isn't it a shame that one of the best boxers in the world is fighting this weekend and boxing is in such a state that we don't really care about it.

Definitely going to that Parker/Ruiz fight if its in NZ. Parker's promoters were trying to get government funding to bring the fight here lol ended up being held here anyway. Shows that HW boxing isn''t very much in demand in the US. Hoping for a solid Parker win

I can see an upset in that fight. Might jam a sneaky ton on Ruiz

i really doubt it. looking at his boxrec don't think ruiz has fought a top 100 heavyweight in the world in his entire career. i literally have never heard of any one of his opponents lol

Ward/Kovalev only two weeks away

Didn't know it was getting the PPV treatment. What do you guys think? Opinions seem to be split 50/50.

Ward is unbelievably good, but he has hardly fought during the past 5 years and he's never fought at this weight before and Kovalev is the end boss.

I can't see how this fight is 50/50?

Kovalev didn't really look all that impressive against Chilemba. He won, but he was supposed to absolutely own him and he didn't. Chilemba actually showed some fight.

Ward by decision imo

----------------

Geez that was pretty poor hype work in that vid. Wonder what would have happened if the dudes holding them back were late in reacting.

Chilemba fight is the only thing that makes me hesitate. Chilemba is tricky like Ward, and Chilemba showed a bit how you can actually win rounds vs Kovalev. Before that, nobody looked like they ever had a chance of putting together some rounds vs Kovalev. Hopkins did all he could to just survive, but had no shot at winning rounds in that fight. I really felt that the Ward fight would be similar until Kovalev's last fight. Reportedly he dogged camp and such, and you could see it in his endurance, but he wasn't completing dominating every round start to finish like usual.

I still slightly lean Kovalev, but more like 55-45. I would've said 80-20 before and was prepared to go big on Kovalev, now I'm probably just a non betting observer.

This Chinese guy seems really good. Props to the Thai fellow somehow going the distance.

--------------

Donaire fight looking interesting.

Nonito really picked it up in the 5th. Magdaleno lunging and getting timed well though. Mag has a lot of potential.

----------------

Wow Magdaleno outworking Nonito in the last couple of rounds. He might be up on the cards. Nonito might have endurance issues since he seems to be loading up on shots hoping for the KO rather than breaking him down.

Nonito looked awful in the 9th. I think Mag is winning the fight.

----------------

I know it's SAS's first fight, but his scoring is on par with Jim Watt.

Got it 114-114. Some super close rounds.

ETA: Wow @ 118-110. 116-112 sensible imo. Hard to argue that Donaire won.

Wow Valdez has some sick power. This fight might last a few more rounds at this rate.

Thought he was done in the 2nd. Some serious shots taken by Osawa. Valdez would easily be beat by a solid counter-puncher. He's too wild.

Okay, Valdez treating this like a glorified sparring session.

I've heard it plenty of times for Manny's fights, but man does The Philippines have a weak national anthem.

Yeah. It's actually worse than the U.S. anthem.

I'd take the Mexican and British national anthem over either of them ainec

Gonna watch the first few rounds to see if Vargas has anything and then go to sleep.
