If Canelo won't fight him, Canelo gets stripped and GGG likely fights Saunders. If not Saunders, perhaps Jacobs mandatory works. Not sure if Haymon is ready to cash that in yet, but it would be compelling. If not those two, Tureno Johnson is another option. I think those are all more likely than Ramirez. Ramirez is young and coming off of a big win, I don't think they want to sacrifice his O to GGG. He's got length and size, but GGG is a force, even for a small-medium middleweight. It's like a 90-10 and Ramirez is probably close to 50-50 vs DeGale right now, who is the class of that division. Stupid to take him down a big notch vs GGG for what is likely not even 2x the money he'd get against a legit 168lber.

Totally agree.

One last thing, this Gomez/DLH talk about how GGG wouldn't move up to fight Ward so why should Canelo move up is BS. Ward wasn't active + is a big 168lber. GGG literally weighs less than Canelo on fight night. Canelo should be the one to fight Ward first, and NOBODY ever says that. Canelo is just using his age to cut a ridiculous amount of weight on weigh ins, he needs to be called out for that a lot more than he already is. None of this 155lb BS with GGG, he is the heavier man, stop ducking and making excuses and all that jazz (especially when you hold the 160lb belt). Cotto was bad enough, a WW masquerading as a MW, but this Canelo stuff is ridiculous. Every time he's asked, Abel Sanchez needs to say "Canelo is bigger than GGG, we should enforce a 170lb day of fighting weight on him" to shut them up.
