Yeah, I did know that NZ had been hit by a virus. They were still pretty good though and it was only really the last 20 minutes when they looked below par. England completely dominated up front right from the get go and it was specifically the way they played at the breakdown that impressed me. I don't remember the last time I saw an England team put so much emphasis on committing men and trying to get turnovers/slow the ball down.

They weren't 'pretty good' They would have all been dehydrated, without much food intake the days before the match. The fact that England conceded 21 points takes drastically away from their performance since they should have been able to keep them below 15. England played v well, but nowhere near to their best in the last decade

England beating France, in France, in the 2007 world cup semi was probably their best performance, since it came the match after France had taken down NZ

I have to disagree. The virus NZ had pre match didn´t seem to affect them too much when they were able to get back to 14-15. The reality is that they have great players but a terrible coaching staff who are living off the efforts of Graham Henry and Wayne Smith. Ian Fosters record in Super rugby speaks for itself and Steve Hansens career has been built on the back of far more successful coaches. I hope the entire NZ coaching staff is sacked after this debacle.

Very likely to have Fiji in it too, who could cause an upset.

There was some high-level trolling between the WRU and the RFU about where to play the Wales-England game. Wales: 'Surely you want to play the game in the greatest rugby stadium in the world'. England: 'We think Twickenham will be OK once its been done up a bit'.

World Cup has never seen a group like this. It's going to be brilliant.

Good chance that by the time the RWC starts, all three sides are inside the top 6 in the World Rankings.

Also, good attempt by the Welsh but with 3 English stadiums with greater capacities than the Millennium (4 if you include the Olympic Stadium) and with the RWC board seemingly intent on squeezing as much money as possible out of the event, there's as good as zero chance of Eng v Wal being held in Cardiff. Oh and also because England are the host nation.

france/ireland/italy group has potential for LOL particularly since the qualifiers will not be completely incompetent

I heard England beat NZ on match day and have been scared to click the thread since. Glad to discover that i can attribute any dominance England might have shown to the NZ bug and that Scotland have a relatively easy draw despite their ridiculously ****ty performance.

If Wales hosted England it would be a stupider situation then France playing new Zealand in wales in the quarters of 2007 as the only knockout game held outside France

Bump for Six Nations this weekend. This year should be good, hard to tell which way it's going to go.

Have tickets to Wales v Ireland. Praying for payback after last year. Italy and Scotland are going to get buggered, but at least Scotland have managed to import some tryscorers.

England or France will win it.

Maybe Ireland.

Italy wooden spoon, only because they've got to play at murrayfield this year.

Sean Maitland playing for Scotland lol how many NZ born players play for other countries? I'm guessing over 50 judging by the RWC squads in 2011. They're a breeding ground for talent

Looking forward to some international rugby tomorrow. I´m picking France to win it, although it´s pretty open this year.

Likely to be England or Ireland I'd say. France play both of them away and have a poor recent record at Twickenham. If Ireland can beat Wales tomorrow then with both Eng and Fra having to visit Dublin they have a really great chance of winning it.

Am kinda writing Wales off because although their first XV is still excellent, due to their injury crisis, they currently have little to back it up with.

Looking at the betting Ireland at 6/5 looks good. Surprised they're not clear favourites in this one. And Scotland at 9/1 lol
