Why are so many of the PDC majors leg format? It's so obvious that set format is way more entertaining for spectators. And in a world where MVG is so dominant, surely increasing variance a little can only be good for the game.

To differentiate the events more and have at least some low variance majors so the best players win more often. Like the double in event is an example of something a bit different. I think they should introduce more stuff like that tbh.

Probably start early match at 7:20, lasts at most six sets, for which there'd be four ad breaks, at least twenty minutes bull**** beforehand, I'd say around 9pm (10 'schland time)

Thinking you may as well have gone Barney -2.5, assuming Barney has the darts, which as Phil has a tendency to give them up, the only loss would have been 5-3 which happens exactly only when Barney would break in exactly the eighth set, but gl anyway
