Nice. Haven't seen The Dreamboy Gary Anderson play that well in a while.

Im about to put the kibosh on Anderson by sticking some cash on him.

Betting on Anderson making a load of 180's is making me cash today.

Anderson at 7's for the Word Championships ... Bunting has been shelved.

Bunting has a chance to go deep but no chance he wins it.

well he's still 9's on betfair but yeah, that was never a good idea

that confirms the seedings, will have a gander at half time in the pats/packers game and see where the value is

aight, assuming darts database is accurate, here is the draw and me pulling names out of my arse the master computer:

so if i'm looking for value, i'm looking for:

- people that aren't mvg or taylor that might bink it
- people that are at least 50/1 or greater who, with a few correct results, we can lay off at a much shorter price

so i'm mainly looking at:

king 74/1 - i've raved about him for the past few months. he can easily handle van der voort, whitlock is not in form at all, and he's not the guy that'd give a **** about taylor, if taylor even gets there - part won't job easily and white or huybrechts is a bastard of a draw. this is a peach of a draw

wade - don't bet him now, wait for the bookies to realise that he'd play bunting in round 2. then hammer the hell out of the line. apart from wade/bunting/wright that quarter is a joke, so punish the line

thornton 80/1 - baxter's not been relevant for a while. chisnall's a pretty tough last 16 matchup, but get through that, and he could run into a questionable form van gerwen - win that and get paid

jenkins 150/1 - that is, assuming, thornton faces mvg - pipe's surely a dog to jenkins and mvg has lost to jenkins this weekend. a last 16 match is not that long and jenkins can easily win over that distance. bink that and then you've got chizzy or thornton - not that formidable

lewis 12/1 - klaasen's not easy but should be fine, we've seen he can handle caven and i doubt barney would offer more resistance, then you're in a quarter vs probably anderson, and lewis has course and distance over him

i'm mainly avoiding:

anderson - if you wanted anderson, you should have got on earlier. now his odds are close to halved and that is a brutal draw

taylor - the last player you want to have as a lower seed is part, who should at least push him, white/huybrechts will have no fear, neither will king (whitlock might), and he loses his semi regardless

bunting - yeah, you're not beating wade

wright - yeah, you're also not beating wade

van barneveld - frankly i'd back at least 5 of the seeds in your quarter against you

Taylor going to bust all your bets single handed :P

they had the final qualifier today, jason hogg, who's cashed in the last two uk opens (in 2013 doing so with very good deep runs in the last two qualifiers, reaching a quarter beating ronny huybrechts, kellett and hamilton, then a semi beating cullen, kim huybrechts and dolan), goes straight through to round 1, and scott mackenzie, a hong kong native who's previously qualified and has a tour card, and has appeared in the world cup with royden lam, is in the qualifying round.

more pertinently, burnett has withdrawn for personal reasons (probably still drunk), which has shifted the seedings - so ignore all the above, as dartsdatabase ****ed it up even before he quit. kellett gets the #32 seed and ryan de vreede is in through the back door

Would assume so.

@64, I didn't watch any darts this week. When you were criticising (at least I think it was) Taylor for how he took out 129, what did he do.

I assume standard is T20, T19, D6, leaving bullseye if you brick the second triple, and he did something stupid and started on 19s, leaving himself no way to go single/bull?

Also, this is obviously my blind green and gold glasses talking, but surely Nicholson in a section of Chisnall, Thornton and Baxter is worth a small flutter at 500/1, and likely able to lay off at ~40s should he make the quarterfinals.

Nah, he went 19s first, as you should to leave 110 if you miss, then d16-d20 which seems totally fine

except he's drawn van de pas in round 1, where he should be an underdog
whitlock also has a bastard of a draw in darren webster. kyle anderson gets beaton

aight, i'm scanning through oddschecker to get some brief pointers:

- dave richardson at 10/3 could be fun, he beat some competent players to qualify and hamilton's a joke now
- winstanley should be a fair bit shorter than 4/11, stick him in your accas
- klaasen/kist can be arbed
- part at 15/8 could be a sneaky bet. kind of think the market is exaggerating keegan's skill and part has course and distance
- meulenkamp at 11/4 looks automatic over mark webster
- van de pas at 11/10 vs nicholson looks very good
- wright/price can be arbed
- artut at 12/1 vs taylor is kind of tempting but he does have the tendency to wilt under pressure, if he gets in a spot where he can win, i don't think he does
- barney/rodriguez can be arbed, but rowby at 4's looks pretty good
- liking gilding 12/5 vs thornton and webster 3/1 vs whitlock. it's a fairly short game and they can get it done, in particular gilding who will give no ****s
- beaton 4/5 is my bet of the round
- haavisto, if he gets through michael, can turn over white. 4/1 is supposedly available, dunno how, but a small punt looks good
- baxter 4/7 looks good. i think he's still a fair bit better than either of the opponents he could face
