We definitely need to bet on the worlds as a collective in some way shape or form as a forum, either with a bracketology type competition or just random degen betting of some kind.

I'm just looking at the projected seedings, mvg having Webster, White/Jenkins, Chisnall/Hamilton then Wright/lolwade seems easier than klaasen, pipe/huybrechts, Anderson then Lewis for Phil. Way too big of a minefield plus Phil still needs to beat MVG in the final

I will wait until i see the draw until i punt some cash on Bunting each way.

right now his draw looks like rando first round opponent - whitlock - king - lewis - taylor - mvg. fortunately that should change as we've still got a couple of pro tour events and the players championship left, but i wouldn't touch anything like that at his odds. best available 16's when lewis/anderson are 14's? i'll take lewis/anderson thanks

having a quick scan on oddschecker, i like whitlock at 50's and dolan at 200's backing to lay later. might have a spot of van der voort at 250's, if only because he's projected to play hamilton in round 2 right now, obv assuming that draw stays like it is

I'll just be enjoying quality darts for what it is and not placing any bets.

Granted .. if that is his draw then im going nowhere near it.

Unless his odds drift badly ..

Although i had previously stated i had retired from darts betting ... but its more fun when you have a few quid on someone.

I'm looking to have a punt on Phil if you're interested, nothing major. £20.

Or could do MvG v Taylor if you'd prefer.

yeah, i mostly think that on both sides of mvg/taylor it'd just be mutually beneficial to just bet the relevant party outright

so the field for the worlds has been confirmed - the order of the seedings will change somewhat after this weekend's players championship finals, and mark webster could drop down out of the seedings into qualifying through the pro tour for similar reasons (but probably not as it'd require someone making an improbable run to at least the semi final)

seeds:
mvg, taylor, a lewis, wright, wade, g anderson, whitlock, chisnall
thornton, king, dolan, hamilton, barney, white, newton, pipe
jenkins, k huybrechts, caven, painter, beaton, m smith, vvdv, baxter
nicholson, burnett, bunting, winstanley, a smith, part, klaasen, m webster

from the pro tour:
gilding, d webster, van de pas, kist, j lewis, r huybrechts, jones, price
henderson, k brown, pallett, kellett, cullen, k anderson, artut, mansell

from the european tour:
r-j rodriguez, suljovic, meulenkamp, hopp

cannon fodder:
australian order of merit winer: loz ryder
oceanic masters champ: john weber
north american qualifier: dave richardson
new zealand qualifier: mark mcgrath
irish matchplay champ: daryl gurney
south african champ: nolan arendse
spanish qualifier: cristo reyes
scandi order of merit winner: jani haavisto
scandi qualifier: kim viljanen
south asia qualifier: christian perez
chinese qualifier: alex hon
western euro qualifier: jermaine wattimena
soft tip qualifier: scott kirchner
german qualifier: sascha stein
eastern euro qualifier: robert marijanovic
southern euro qualifier: john michael
japanese qualifier: haruki murimatsu
russian qualifier: boris koltsov
plus two from the final uk qualifier next week

As much as i approve of the new walk on women in the darts..

Seeing John Mcdonald has lost some his voice is a delightful sight.

Ive been wanting him to be quiet for ages.

3 out of 6 and Webster repeating his miss match darts thing from last year's worlds, not bad

I need Wright to win this last match to complete my acca.

Barney's body language lately tilts the hell out of me ... bloke looks completely disinterested.

If he was that disinterested then he wouldn't have shown up at last weekend's floor events where he needed a result to even qualify for this

Edit - seems Burnett didn't show and Jamie lewis bricked both so he'd have made it anyway lol

Im probably still a bit sore after he cost me dollars by losing against that young lad in the last tournament i watched.

He does look like hes going through one of his downer moments though ... he never plays well when hes like this.

Snap out of it Barney.

quick look at today's odds, up to best of 17 or 19, can't remember which, so won't be quite so aggressive on the underdogs:

caven 13/8 vs thornton, thornton only just beat webster, caven had a decent win yesterday against an in form white
dolan vs newton no bet, would auto bet dolan at evens but newton actually had a good result yesterday so idk
smith vs lewis no bet, lewis too short at 1/5
winstanley 11/10 vs klaasen, should be close but i think dean's the better player
wright vs van der voort no bet, line looks good, wright solid favourite but vincent can come through about a third of the time
jenkins 5/1 vs van gerwen, half a unit bet, jenkins has been doing enough that in what's still a relatively short format he can get there, solid game vs huybrechts yesterday while from the above, sounds like mvg got a free win
king 5/1 vs taylor, half a unit bet, king's having a career year, looking at my rankings he's a top 8 player, so don't know why he's that long, taylor probably wins but king causes the upset enough
anderson vs bunting no bet, think ando has a slight edge and the book reflects it

Might put a couple of quid on a Klaasen, Wright and Bunting treble only because i think there is a little value in it.

Klaasen had one of his purple patches against Wade and another on of those for a few games will tip the balance in his favour.

Wright was not great yesterday but expect him to be consistent enough to beat the erratic Dutchman.

And obviously .. Bunting is my current flavour of the month and he beats EVERYONE .. apart from King that one time.
