MVG got away with one last night. Bunting should give him a really good game. And nice one for Wade beating fatty for a change, but I still can't stand him. Go Anderson.

Sportingbet are long on Wade, allowing an arb if you bet Ando with Paddypower fyi

He's crept into the top 32 and if they did the draw now he'd play fatty round 2 so prob not, if he can go fairly deep in the euro champs then maybe

euro championships start tomorrow, on itv4 so probably get the awful views of alan warriner. the market:

sixfour expert analysis:

newton/white - white 5/6 - newton's been crap all year and white's won 15 grand more than him this season. if anything after the matchplay he's been even worse. white doesn't have the distraction of next week's masters either as the pdc's joke of a ranking system let barney in through the back door

van der voort/wagner - no bet - vvdv should be a big favourite and has a tour win this season, but that's a bit too short to back. wagner's beaten some decent players to get here so it's not an auto win

rodriguez/thornton - no bet - line looks right. thornton's much better and more consistent but the austrian kid gets there in a short race often enough

caven/suljovic - suljovic 13/8 - caven's form from earlier this year has disappeared, and suljovic is very dangerous, especially over a short format

dolan/smith - no bet - i might have been tempted to bet dolan if he'd done anything outside of ireland this year, but he hasn't, so i won't.

chisnall/artut - artut 7/2 - artut made the semi of a pro tour event last sunday and is in form, chisnall should win but hasn't been playing well enough to take this 75%+ of the time. plus artut made me a packet when he put mardle out of the first round of the worlds a few years back so i trust the guy

winstanley/k huybrechts - huybrechts 4/5 - purely on extremely recent form. winstanley's been very consistent this season, which is why he's here, but he bricked the two pro tour events last weekend whereas kim went deep in both of them

kist/king - king 4/7 - king's won a euro event recently and should have a bit too much for kist

wright/van de pas - no bet - there's an arb here, so just have a tiny free roll on van de pas. line looks right

hamilton/bunting - bunting 4/7 - hamilton won the first tour event of the year and has done **** all since. bunting meanwhile semi'd a major this month

anderson/jenkins - anderson 5/11 - anderson's just that much better than jenkins at this stage

wade/r huybrecths - no bet - wade's in red hot form but that's too short, ronny's been quiet but can nick something in a short format occasionally

lewis/klaasen - no bet - lewis might be a touch rusty having not played that many tour events so won't bet him, despite klaasen not having kicked on from a good 2013 season

van gerwen/pipe - pipe 4/1 - another daft short format punt. pipe beat mvg in a tour final earlier this month, so it can happen

taylor/beaton - no bet - beaton can win this but probably won't enough to take a flyer

whitlock/barneveld - whitlock 10/11 - have little confidence in either but will go with the higher rated player in an effective coin flip, think there's enough "barney can't be arsed" equity here, plus whitlock has course and distance form, defending a win from 2012

on now. white crushed newton, vvdv beat wagner but jesus christ, wagner hit a trillion maximums, if he could hit a double he'd have won, think he still averaged over 100 despite going something like 2/19 on checkouts

round 2 odds. tonight matthew, i'm going to be setting money on fire betting against phil:

jenkins/thornton - no bet - i don't know if jenkins can sustain the level of play that kept him in with anderson long enough for anderson to choke in a longer format (now a race to 10). thornton looked consistent against rodriguez, line looks about right

chisnall/white - no bet - white looked pretty good in round 1 against newton, don't think we're being given quite the right price here, 6/4 i'd probably take

klaasen/caven - klaasen 6/5 - he looked solid in knocking out lewis, whereas caven merely did what was needed against suljovic. naturally the market has caven as a favourite. i don't know why. this is probably a coinflip

wright/k huybrechts - no bet - neither player looked that convincing and both could easily have been out. as mentioned in the previous round, kim's in a bit of form. this is close to a bet on huybrechts, but i think the longer format will favour wright enough

van barneveld/van der voort - no bet - barney looked good yesterday. van der voort also looked good, although his average was inflated by wagner scoring heavily in the legs he won. i don't think barney's good enough to bet at such short odds, but i don't see how van der voort can get 10 legs - their game at the matchplay was lol

taylor/bunting - bunting 3/1 - bunting annihilated hamilton with a 100+ average. taylor beat beaton as beaton was awful. taylor did not play well at all. this is still a short enough format that taylor cannot just instant win. bunting shouldn't be a 3/1 dog against anybody in the world

van gerwen/dolan - dolan 5/1 - small punt. dolan looked amazing against smith, albeit smith wasn't on his best form. van gerwen should win, but dolan can keep this close if he maintains form from yesterday, and him nicking it 20% of the time isn't a ridiculous statement

r huybrechts/king - no bet - very tempted to go with ronny, but i think king's already dodged his bullet, and ronny's already had his final, so to speak. a race to 10 will allow king enough time to get home, and frankly if the first round was a race to 10 i'd be talking about wade vs king here

Apart from playing poker, im not really a sports betting man apart from a few football bets, but im drawn to those Klaassen odds at 6/5 ... a feel a small punt coming on.

sixfour will be accountable for any losses obviously ..

There was a time when Taylor was 3/10 for the whole tournament, nevermind vs a merely good player, not a top rival. Yet he is still top 2 minimum. Wonder when he retires?
