Mathematically possible and actually possible in real life 2013 MLB conditions are not the same thing imo

pretty weird thing to come at me about since i've been se's foremost trout supporter and my recent posts on the subject have called him the best player in baseball

Will Puig bat .300 for the second half of this season? All games after the all star game.

Pitchers are going to figure him out sooner or later and his average will drop.

The raw power in his bat is nothing short of unbelievable. Incredible athlete. I hope he refines his skills - he's really young.

Someday, when your grandkids ask you about what you were doing when HOFer Yasiel Puig hit .400 in his rookie season, do you really want to tell them you were trolling the world's first .400 (.500?) Watch thread? You better hope the 30 for 30 on his career doesn't include screencaps of this thread.

His 30 for 30 better include a bitter interview with Os.k.i about how he can't hit the cutoff man

Pretty sure we would just lie to our grandkids in that case.

I'll tell my grand kids about how in the 2nd half of his rookie season and the rest of career, no pitcher ever threw him a strike and yet he managed to walk 100 times total in his career while batting .240 for all seasons not his rookie year (which he concluded by hitting only .285 for the season even though he was hitting basically .400 at the AS break).

Wow.

What's your problem?

I pointed out he has trouble with the outside slider - from that point he's struck out more than half the time.

I also posted out he has defensive and base running problems. I never said he would not improve on that.

Meanwhile, you add a lot of interesting stuff to the forum (not really - you seem scared to form an opinion of your own). Posters like you make this site increasingly tedious and boring. Unfortunately, there are a lot of posters like you.

Dudd, you are aptly named.

Oski, I have added more value to this forum in photoshops alone than your entire posting career. Slink back to the Amanda Knox thread where people get paid to interact with you

Lol comparing your worth in life by value added on an Internet forum. You two children should take it elsewhere. Oski - that was strange to get so defensive over such an innocuous jab. It was pretty funny.

Not having grand kids so I can troll the @#&! out of this thread. While simultaneously watching Transformers where Shia LeBouf can question my courage to get in the car so I can tell my grandkids about it 65 years from now.

Puig will not finish even above .300 is my guess. He'll fall off as the pressure mounts on his shoulders and he chokes.

Dudes hitting .273 after the All-Star Break. Not to mention he strikes out 5x more than he walks. Those are terrible numbers for a guy batting in the 2 slot, who's suppose to have high contact, can run, and bunt. Puig has stolen 7 bases but has been thrown out 5 times!

Like everyone else has said, he'll get figured out.

Bo Hart, with the cards in 2003 did something very similar, although he fell off rather quickly, he still hit .360 through 25 major league games ending at 77 on the year with a .277.

With 55 games left for the dodgers, I just don't see Yasiel hitting like he has. I figured his remaining 25 games are against the Cubs, Rockies, Padres, and Marlins which means his other 30 games are against contenders/quality teams.

Certainly it's possible, but not probable in my opinion.
