So having a French guy go from drawing completly dead to having a legit chance at winning the Green jersey does not come across as a possible homer decision to you?

(This is not taking into account the fact Demare was probably most responsible for the whole chain of events.)

It's the frenchies, listen to their public cycling channel and you'll know everything you need to know about them.

Hell, Virenque is still an absolute respected legend in france 20 years later because he was winning mountain jerseys and managed to convince a whole country he was an innocent little victim in the festina scandal

Has there ever been a less underwhelming TDF? Sky looks as strong as ever. Lost faith in Quintana and he doesn't even have Valverde. No really serious competitors for Froome. Don't see Porte or Matin doing much. I guess all the hopes rely on Aru.
Sagan not here to entertain us on stages.

Can't remember being this disinterested in a tour

Sagan to come back and finish the race.

Lol

Is there really a chance that Sagan comes back? According to a statement from bora they go to CAS because Sagan had no chance of defending himself infront of the jury which is mandatory accoring to the UCI rules. Would be hell of a joke if true. French people

Also is tony martin ridding with a concussion??

Probably not as they've done stages in between. Basically lol UCI. Complete joke of an organisation I want the decision to go against them so bad just as a **** you.

Hope he leaves quickstep,

Gaviria seems to be the only that can match him on flat, I want to watch that battle, not one crushing the Giro and the other crushing the Tour

Gaviria ain't getting near him. At least not yet.

Why isn't Porte going to do much? Froome probably still wins because of the Sky train and he's probably only peaking now, but Porte has looked legit all year.

I'm actually feeling a little bit of excitement.

Very often there is little doubt who is the strongest and who will win after the first serious climb already. That's why first mountain stage is always my favorite. It's very exciting.

This time, maybe just cause it was unusual short and steep for the tour, that still remains very much up in the air.

Sky look scary strong and that could be decisive but at least Froome didn't put everyone in their place already.

Hope that Dan Martin and Aru will be for real.

Not following cycling very closely these days I was shocked that Richie Porte was considered so close to Froome before the tour.

Market had them close and I heard Lance Armstrong pick him pre-tour as his favorite on the daily podcast that he is doing following every stage.

Porte has certainly been extremely strong at times over the years, hopefully he can avoid that big collapse that people seem to associate him with still.

It sucks that Valverde is out. He's been annoying me in recent tours, but so has Quintana to be fair, and Armstong argued that this year's route was perfect for him to make things really interesting.

It was just a form thing but I think it was a bit dumb because obviously Froome gears his whole year for this. It was like GB being 14/1 on men's team sprint in Rio because they had done poorly the few years prior.

No one knows that. That's why people want them on separate teams.

Kittel was amazing yesterday. But bear in mind that Cav beat him 4 times at the TdF last year. And some of them weren't even close.

2 km left today! I'll go out on a limb and predict a Kittel victory.

Wow. Kittel waited until incredibly late for that sprint. Don't think he won.

it's 2017 and they still haven't figured out how to film a sprint

Kittel launched at like 75 meters left, which is extremely late.

But they just confirmed that Kittel won. Closest finish I've ever seen.

Watching in HD, seen the photo and still can't see how they've called the correct winner.

They have better pics?

Can't see the winner in pic above either.

Allegedly, there was less than 5 mm difference between EBH and Kittel at the finish.

Higher res photo finish
