froome looking good the past 2 days but not incredible throughout. thought tejay rode well and you couldn't really fault him at all, he just didn't quite have enough. impressive from simon yates aswell.

Will be interesting to see the teams for the tour now. Sky, Astana and to a lesser extent Movistar have the potential to have such ridiculous strength in depth.

looks like it's gonna be team sky vs team astana vs bertie

Froome is like a good stayer. He just needs an extra 500 metres (if he was a horse) or a week in the saddle to be able to absolutely dominant.

I didn't watch any of the Criterium until I noticed Froome was so far behind after stage 6. I checked out the end of stage 7 to see him pull away.

Was he just taking it easy the first 6 stages? I know that Sky did terrible in the TTT, but how did he get so far behind besides that.

There was a 130km 4man breakaway including Nibali, Valverde and 2013 World Champion Costa.

If that sentence doesn't peak your interest, I don't know what will.

WTF? That sounds unpossible. Guess I should check out stage 6.

Stage 6 was amazing. The Dauphine in general was great.

Tomorrow in Tour de Suisse is also looking like a great stage. 237 km and they end the stage on a climb of 12 km with 10.8 % average gradient. The finish line is at 2669 m altitude.

It's just an insanely difficult stage in a number of ways. Pinot and Fuglsang look like the favorites for the stage, but Majka and Spilak could also put up a challenge.

Another race worth watching is Route de Sud. The queen stage is on Saturday and both Quintana and Contador are riding. It will be interesting to see what shape they're in.

Contador has apparently been "actively resting" ever since the Giro, so he's not at full strength.

It's gonna be interesting to see whether Dumoulin can limit his losses enough to stay in contention, give that the race ends with a 38k TT. The way he defended the jersey so far, especially on sunday, leads me to believe that he will at least try to go for the GC.

Sick for bouhanni who was taken down during national championship in the sprint

With kittel out he could have won some stages he was top 10 in the worlds last year and might be the best climber with matthews amongst sprinters

He's injured now that sucks

yep. other rider got disqualified, completely stupid swerving by him.
but bouhanni is already back on the bike and will start tdf. in recovery mode, according to the team, but i expect him to try his luck on the first sprint anyway.

Odds for Dumolin at 4.5 and Martin at 2.0 for the first stage. Terpstra and Thomas at 51 are also good bets.

For the GC, Froome probably has a small edge over the likes of Quintana and Contador. Not quite sure about Nibalis climbing form after the weak Daphine and the strong nationals.
Pinot also has a decent shot at the podium. My next picks would be TvG and Bardet.

You mistake Kittel and Degenkolb. Kittel hardly survives a speedbump. Dege on the other hand lacks the pure speed to contest for the green jersey with this year's rules.

Nice article on the green jersey competition for the Tour.

http://inrng.com/2015/06/tour-points...ition-preview/

I didn't realize they were changing the points distribution for stages. I guess this is the cycling equivalent to "Tiger-proofing" a course. Sagan-proofing?

Still think Sagan will win the green, though.

Ofc they had to adjust the point scales to make it harder for Sagan. The last years, the competition for the green jersey wasn't particular interesting because only a crash could've stopped Sagan.

He's still the favourite because during the first week it'll close to impossible for a breakaway to win. Everyone's fighting for position and thus the base tempo of the bunch will be very high.

Interesting riders not mentioned yet include Meintjes, Selpulveda and Buchmann. Maybe even Kudus but he still needs a few years.

Tour kicks off tomorrow with the short, very flat prologue in Utrecht.

Start order

Quintana starts two hours before some of the other big contenders.

wouldn't be the tour without astana failing a drug test

It's not a failed drug test. If Froome had the same numbers, we wouldn't even know.
Still no doubt about Boom being on juice.
