The guy is a Spanish multiple GT winner that started winning while riding in Discovery and has tested positive.

I think the cycling audience is divided in a weird way. Everyone sort of agrees that there is doping in the sport. So when someone declares a rider/team clean it annoys those who believe anyone and everyone could very well be doping and you get discussions. So Sky with their miracle stories combined with the silly PR sort of guaranteed a pointless never ending discussion. Contador on the other hand has been the villain of the sport even before the 2010 positive. Andy and Fränk were the good guys before Sky came along.

I always hated when our only thread in SE was filled with doping talk, so I'm thankful that it hasn't happened this season. Yes, Contador is probably doping, so is Aru. So what? They are doping to a much lesser extent they did in the past.

He actually had a better beginning to 2014 than he did to 2015, though that may be because of a different peaking schedule.

Contador put another minute into the Astana riders. Allegedly attacked while the Astana riders were behind a crash, though I didn't notice a crash in the replay.

But honestly, what did Astana think was going to happen when they attacked while Contador had a flat a couple days ago.

Ending of Giro was uneventful. Yesterday, Astana gave up the chance to put Landa in the King of the Mountains jersey by having him ride for Aru. They put 2 minutes into Contador, but that wasn't a big deal because Contador was over 4 ahead and probably didn't care.

Today, the break stays ahead and EQS finally gets a win.

Contador continues his streak of winning every single Giro and Vuelta he's ever entered.

How much is Wiggins gonna smash the hour record on Sunday by?

3 km

The current record is 52.397 km.

Wiggins has apparently stated that his goal is to break Boardman's old, no longer sanctioned, record of 56.375. That ain't gonna happen.

I'd guess somewhere between 54 and 54.5, high enough to dissuade anyone not named Cancellara or Martin from even attempting it.

By the way the record attempt starts at 1:30 pm EDT on Sunday. It will be streamed live on youtube.

Since Wiggins isn't Pro Tour anymore there's no Bio Passport for him to worry about.

Not that the Bio Passport matters anyway http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-32983932

I'll be there on Sunday so really hoping that he is able to smash the record. I would be shocked if he doesn't break it. Weather forecast isn't looking great with a higher pressure system moving in for the weekend. Today would have been pretty good.

There's approximately 0% chance he won't break the record. The question is by how much he breaks the record. The fact that he's going on record saying he'll beat 55 km (more than 2 km over the current record) shows that he knows he'll break the record. He'll look like a complete idiot if he predicts 55 and can't even break 52.9.

Here's a video about his bike (and here's an article about it )

He's putting the hammer down right now. Obviously he's going to smash it, but could he do something ridiculous, even with the high air pressure?

One estimate I saw said he'd gain over 600 m with better air pressure, putting him over 55 km. But I can't imagine him trying it again until Martin or Cancellara breaks the record.

Froome leaves stage 6 of the Criterium du Dauphene in 7th place, 1:21 behind Nibali.

He proceeds to win mountain stage 7 to be in second behind Tejay by 18 seconds.

He then wins mountain stage 8 over Tejay by 18 seconds to win by 10 seconds (including bonus seconds). (Go to 25 minutes of the video to see his breakaway from Tejay).
