vegas has dolphins at +700 to ship, pats at +600, so you're more than welcome to buy that spread if you've got a ton of conviction.

lol no, Pinny has Pats +721 and Dolphins +2000

and built into the current Dolphins price is some % chance Peyton plays there, that's already accounted for. it would change if Peyton signed but no way would they be higher than the Pats

o i thought the spread tightened bc of the newly acquired pinball machine in downtown miami, thanks for clearing that up

I'm with burke on this one. If you put manning on miami and he is healthy he will torch the pats. He'll easily put up 400 yard with a bunch of touch downs.

he's not, and likely will never be, "healthy."

if he can stay upright for 16 games then yea, the dolphins have a pretty good shot at the super bowl, but honestly, how likely is that?

if you put a hot tub time machine in Miami and send 2004 Peyton into it I think you have a good chance of him staying healthy and throwing for 400 yards

i agree i think it's probably less than 90% he's completely healthy, but i think it's pretty hard for anybody to speculate on that until we've seen him warm-up, throw, and take hits or what not to get a better idea.

a 90% healthy manning with the dolphins OL (post draft and healthy Long/Pouncey), with 3 of Marshall/Wayne/Bess/Hartline and Reggie Bush is pretty ****ing good. and the pats secondary is pretty ****ing bad.

but that's something the pats can and probably will address with the draft, so i think there's still too much to predict either way. but i think that as is, if manning is > 90% health dolphins are at least on an equal playing field w/ the pats.

Well obviously there is no point in discussing it if you assume he won't be healthy. I doubt he will be healthy. But if he is, he will destroy that division.

From the articles I read on Peyton's health he should be 100% with the arm and the neck should be even stronger than before. If he has a degenerative spine condition or whatever then other parts of the neck/spine/vertebrae may need surgery again in the future, but the part just operated on will be fine or better than fine.

Manning will visit Cardinals, too

Peyton Manning is making his first free-agent visit on Friday, spending time with the Dolphins.

Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen report that, before Manning returns to Miami, he’ll visit at least one other team.

The Cardinals.

It’s unknown at this point whether Manning will be throwing for the Broncos, the Cardinals, or any other team. With each passing day that he doesn’t, we become more curious as to whether he hopes to sign a new contract without having to do so.

In his only game at University of Phoenix Stadium, in 2009, Manning completed 24 of 35 passes for 379 yards, four touchdowns, one interception, and a passer rating of 130.5.

that's still not a given

the patriots defense is pathetically bad, but it doesn't really matter when you can put up over 500 points in a season.

if manning stays healthy it'll be a close race, but calling either team the favorite is wrong

of course there is a point in discussing all the factors, that's what prediction is. I don't get to assume the Red Sox will be 162-0 if David Ortiz hits 5,000 HR's this year, you don't get to assume how awesome the Dolphins will be with a 100% healthy Manning all year. it's silly to assume the best case scenario as your base case and go from there.

If we assume healthy manning I don't think it's really close at all. Plus if he gets Wayne there then Miami has an elite offense.

13-3 has nothing to do with my claim that manning on miami or denver w/ wayne would torch the pat's d.

As a Miami fan, clearly I want him a Fin, but when I sit and close my eyes, the Texans would be the greatest fit. In fact, I think an offense of Manning/AJ/Foster/Tate is just so damn mind blowing that I wouldn't even be upset if that's what he chose.

sure it does, b/c the Pats D got torched a ton last year. and somehow they still won 13 games. they can't be torched any worse than they were in Week 1 vs the Dolphins - they gave up 488 yards!! but that's ok when you score 38 points

Well then I was setting my bar a little low. He'll probably score on every drive against them.
